Position Overview
The Intermediate PCB Layout Designer supports the PCB Layout Design team in delivering high-quality, manufacturable board designs. Working closely with the Team Lead, this role focuses on executing high-priority layout tasks, contributing to design efficiency, and ensuring adherence to design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Execute PCB layout tasks for assigned projects under the direction of the Team Lead, prioritizing high-urgency deliverables.
- Translate schematics into accurate, manufacturable multi-layer board layouts.
- Apply design rules, signal integrity considerations, and DFM best practices throughout the layout process.
- Collaborate with hardware/electronics design engineers to resolve placement, routing, and constraint challenges.
- Support the Team Lead in reviewing layouts, incorporating feedback, and maintaining design documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of layout workflows and design standards.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of hands-on PCB layout experience, including multi-layer and high-speed designs.
- Proficiency with Cadence tools (e.g., Allegro) is a must.
- Solid understanding of design rules, stack-up management, and signal/power integrity fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of DFM, DFT, and IPC standards.
