Original job description
We are looking for a Junior Sales Operations Analyst to join Calian’s growing Sales Operations and Compensation team. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, analytically curious, and interested in building a career in Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, or Financial Operations.
Working directly with the Manager, Sales Operations and Compensation, you will support the day-to-day operational activities that keep our commercial function running. Your work will help shape how sales teams are incentivized, how pipeline performance is measured, and how leaders make informed decisions. As the team’s mandate expands, you will also contribute to new analytical, automation, and process-improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support sales incentive compensation programs across Calian’s business units by validating data, calculating commissions, and completing monthly and quarterly reconciliations.
- Conduct regular data-quality audits in HubSpot to help maintain accurate and complete pipeline information.
- Maintain and refresh sales, revenue, and compensation reports and dashboards in Excel, Power BI, and HubSpot.
- Retrieve, cleanse, combine, and format data from systems such as HubSpot, SAP, and Excel.
- Complete structured data-migration, data-cleanup, and field-standardization activities in HubSpot under the guidance of the Manager.
- Provide testing and quality-assurance support as commission processes are automated.
- Support cross-business-unit data standardization to enable consistent company-wide reporting and analysis.
- Assist with the rollout of new programs and processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve or automate recurring work as the team grows.
- Perform other duties as required within the scope of the role.
- A university degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Data Analytics, or another field that includes meaningful data analysis.
- A strong knowledge of MS Excel and comfort in learning new technologies and ways of working, including AI-enabled tools.
- Clear and concise communication skills with a confidence in relaying information and responding to queries from senior leaders and other Calian employees.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, including the ability to investigate questions and recommend a possible solution before escalating.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy when completing recurring, process-driven work.
- A logical, data-driven approach and the ability to work with information from multiple sources and tools.
- Discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential compensation and financial information.
- A strong curiosity about data, automation, technology, and process improvement.
- Eligbility to obtain and maintain a Canadian Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level.
- A Microsoft Excel skills assessment will be required to complete during the screening process for this role.
- This will likely be a remote role dependant on the candidates' location with hybrid being more likely in the Ottawa/Kanata region.
- An internship, co-op placement, academic project, or personal analytical or automation project is considered an asset.
- Previous exposure to HubSpot, Salesforce, or another CRM platform is considered an asset.
- Previous exposure to Power BI or a similar reporting or data-visualization tool is considered an asset.
- Previous exposure to SQL or relational database queries is considered an asset.
$65,000 to $75,000CAD annual salary.
