Job Type: Full Time

Position Overview

We are looking for an HR Operations Advisor to serve as a trusted partner and subject matter expert supporting employees, managers, and HR stakeholders across global operational and workforce matters. This is a contract position to backfill an employee that will be going on maternity leave.

In this role, you will deliver high-quality HR services, support global workforce programs and compliance initiatives, contribute to international hiring and mobility activities, and lead targeted process improvements and HR projects.

You will use data, research, and insights to recommend solutions, manage risk, strengthen operational effectiveness, and enhance the employee experience across our global organization.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate global hiring requests and provide guidance on international workforce arrangements, independent contractor engagements, relocations, immigration requirements, temporary assignments, and cross-border employment.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for the Temporary Work Request Program, including request execution, compliance, reporting, analytics, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, Payroll, Information Systems, HR, and business leaders to assess workforce compliance risks and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Support HR due diligence, integration planning, and post-acquisition activities, including the integration of HR data, systems, processes, and employee programs.
  • Lead or contribute to HR projects involving process optimization, system enhancements, compliance initiatives, legislative requirements, and program implementation.
  • Research employment legislation and support the development, maintenance, and implementation of global HR policies, procedures, agreements, templates, and governance processes.
  • Conduct and document workforce classification risk assessments and provide recommendations related to employment, tax, payroll, and regulatory risk.
  • Coordinate legislative reporting, submissions, audits, registrations, permits, and compliance documentation.
  • Develop and deliver training, tools, presentations, and guidance for employees, managers, HR partners, and business stakeholders.
  • Provide advice to managers and employees on HR policies, employment standards, government regulations, and operational HR matters.
  • Analyze HR data to identify trends, recommend improvements, mitigate risk, and support informed decision-making.
  • Support employee benefit and well-being programs through administration, communications, reporting, analysis, and system maintenance.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and a positive employee and stakeholder experience.

Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field.
  • At 5+ years of experience across a broad range of Human Resources functions, with intermediate-level experience and the ability to contribute with limited ramp-up.
  • Experience supporting HR operations, compliance, employment policies, workforce programs, or multi-jurisdictional global employment matters
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and provide practical recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities with varying levels of complexity.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced knowledge of HRIS platforms, with SAP experience considered an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to present information to HR partners, managers, and business stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgement, discretion, and commitment to accuracy.

Additional Requirements

  • Eligbility to obtain and maintain a Canadian Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level is a requirement for this role.
  • Experience supporting global HR operations, particularly within Canada, the United States, Europe, or other international jurisdictions, is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience with global mobility, immigration, relocation, international assignments, mergers and acquisitions, or HR integration activities.
  • Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Forms, Power Automate, Copilot, or similar productivity and workflow tools.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently, identify solutions, and seek appropriate validation or approvals when required.
  • Ability to remain adaptable, collaborative, and effective in a fast-paced environment where priorities and responsibilities continue to evolve.
  • Comfort working through ambiguity, building new processes, and responding to changing legislative and business requirements.

Compensation

$72,000 to $77,000CAD annually.
