Calian is seeking an Information Technology Resource – Specialist to support Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC). The role supports specialized software development, modelling and simulation activities used in the research, development, analysis and evaluation of military systems and capabilities.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, modify, test, verify, validate, integrate and document software components used in modelling and simulation environments.
Analyze and develop software architecture and support the creation and maintenance of digital models and simulation capabilities.
Support military scenario development, simulation execution and analysis of software and simulation results.
Develop and work with software using C++ and, depending on the task, technologies such as Python, Unreal Engine, MATLAB/Simulink and graphical user interfaces.
Support verification and validation activities, experimental data collection and integration of software with modelling and simulation components.
Prepare technical documentation and reports and provide knowledge transfer, training and support to project partners.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, automated manufacturing engineering, information technology engineering or software engineering
At least 12 months of experience programming in C++
Software experience
Experience in the relevant areas of expertise

Additional Requirements

Travel within Canada or internationally may be required depending on the task, including for data gathering, test set-ups, knowledge transfer or presentations.

Responsabilités

Concevoir, développer, modifier, tester, vérifier, valider, intégrer et documenter des composantes logicielles utilisées dans des environnements de modélisation et de simulation.
Analyser et développer l’architecture logicielle et soutenir la création et la maintenance de modèles numériques et de capacités de simulation.
Soutenir l’élaboration de scénarios militaires, l’exécution de simulations ainsi que l’analyse des logiciels et des résultats de simulation.
Développer des logiciels et travailler avec C++ ainsi que, selon la tâche, avec des technologies telles que Python, Unreal Engine, MATLAB/Simulink et des interfaces graphiques.
Soutenir les activités de vérification et de validation, la collecte de données expérimentales et l’intégration des logiciels aux composantes de modélisation et de simulation.
Préparer de la documentation technique et des rapports et assurer le transfert de connaissances, la formation et le soutien aux partenaires du projet.

Qualifications

Baccalauréat, maîtrise ou doctorat en informatique, en génie informatique, en génie électrique, en génie de la production automatisée, en génie des technologies de l’information ou en génie logiciel.
Au moins 12 mois d’expérience en programmation C++.
Expérience avec les logiciels :
6 mois d’expérience avec Python.
12 mois d’expérience avec Unreal Engine.
12 mois d’expérience avec MATLAB/Simulink.
3 mois d’expérience dans la création d’interfaces graphiques.
6 mois d’expérience dans la création de modèles numériques.
Expérience dans les domaines d’expertise pertinents :
