Calian is seeking experienced and skilled Advanced Care Paramedics (ACPs) to facilitate access to the Alberta Health Services Virtual Opioid Dependency Program (VODP) by individuals who have been arrested or detained in Grande Prairie.
Responsibilities
- Attend Cellblocks to assist with referrals to the VODP
- Administer medicine as directed by the VODP team including Intravenous medicine
- Assist with calls for police and or paramedic service where opioids/addiction are involved.
- Patrol and interact with community members to pro-actively make referrals to the VODP.
- Make follow-up contact with VODP clients to assist with programming and case management
- Provide bi-monthly metrics reports.
- Licensed and in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics
- Valid ACLS certification
- Experience dealing with mental health and addictions
- Must successfully pass an enhanced security clearance

Responsibilities
Facilitate referrals to the Alberta Health Services Virtual Opioid Dependency Program for people arrested or detained, and provide medication as directed by the program team. Support opioid- and addiction-related calls, conduct community outreach and client follow-up, assist with case management, and submit metrics reports every two months.
Requirements
Applicants must be licensed and in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics, hold valid ACLS certification, and have experience working with mental health and addictions. They must also successfully pass an enhanced security clearance.
