Original job description

Who we are:

Canaccord Genuity (CG) is a leading independent, full-service financial services firm with a strong presence across wealth management and capital markets. We are built on long-term client relationships, entrepreneurial thinking, and a commitment to delivering tailored solutions for individual, institutional, and corporate clients. With a collaborative culture and global perspective, we bring together deep industry expertise, innovative ideas, and a client-first approach to help our clients achieve their goals.

Our people are at the heart of our success. At CG, you will be part of a team that values collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. We move quickly, encourage fresh thinking, and empower our employees to contribute meaningful work in an environment that is professional, supportive, and focused on delivering exceptional results for our clients.

About The Role:

Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is currently looking for a Graphic Designer to join our Creative Team in Toronto. This is a hands-on design role for someone with strong graphic design fundamentals who enjoys bringing ideas to life within established brand systems. A significant focus will be supporting Advisor Marketing, partnering with Advisor Marketing Managers to create polished advisor and client-facing materials across print, digital and web channels. The Graphic Designer will also support the broader Creative team, manage a high volume of day-to-day production work and contribute to larger creative initiatives. The ideal candidate is a dependable, detail-oriented designer with strong production skills who can balance multiple assignments and independently move projects from brief through final production. While the role is execution-focused, there will also be opportunities to contribute to larger campaigns, brand initiatives and other high-impact creative projects.

What you’ll be doing:

Design and produce a broad range of print and digital marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, advertisements, social content, event collateral, signage, reports, email graphics and advisor marketing materials.
Partner with Advisor Marketing Managers to translate briefs and business requirements into polished, effective creative solutions.
Develop and maintain digital marketing content across advisor websites and other platforms, including website graphics, landing page assets and email marketing materials.
Manage a steady volume of projects within the Creative team’s production queue, balancing changing priorities while maintaining quality, accuracy and timelines.
Work within established corporate identities, templates and design systems, applying sound design judgment and adapting creative across formats, sizes, channels and audiences.
Prepare production-ready artwork for print and digital use, reviewing layout, typography, image quality, brand consistency and technical accuracy before release.
Coordinate print production as required, including file preparation, quotes, vendor communication, proofing and final delivery.
Organize working files and creative assets according to established team standards.
Collaborate with Creative, Marketing, Advisor Marketing and other internal stakeholders to keep projects moving efficiently.
Take ownership of assigned projects from brief through completion, identifying and escalating questions or issues early while contributing thoughtful creative input within established direction.
Contribute to larger campaigns, brand initiatives and other creative projects as opportunities arise.

What you bring:

Approximately 2–4 years of professional graphic design experience, ideally within an in-house creative team, agency or similarly fast-paced environment.
Post-secondary education in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or a related design discipline.
Strong design fundamentals, including typography, layout, hierarchy, composition, colour and image selection.
Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Demonstrated experience designing for print and digital channels, with strong production skills including file preparation, resizing, versioning, prepress and final artwork.
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and confidence working within established brand guidelines and creative systems.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and move projects independently from brief through execution.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a practical, solutions-oriented approach to design and production.
A portfolio demonstrating strong design fundamentals and polished, professionally executed work across print and digital applications.

Nice to Have:

Experience in financial services, professional services or a corporate environment.
Familiarity with video editing, motion graphics and animation using tools such as Premiere Pro or After Effects.
Experience creating and adapting digital content for websites, social media and email campaigns, including basic website updates, landing pages and CMS platforms such as WordPress or Webflow.
Familiarity with Canva and Figma, as well as generative AI tools for creating, enhancing and adapting graphic assets.
Experience working with commercial printers and production vendors.
Proficiency in PowerPoint and designing professional corporate presentations.

Work Arrangement:

This role is expected to be fully in-office to support collaboration, team connectivity, and day-to-day business needs. The successful candidate should be comfortable working on-site on a regular basis, with any flexibility determined by the nature of the role, business requirements, and manager approval.

Total Rewards:

The expected total compensation for this role is $75,000 - $80,000 and will be based on the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications. In addition, Canaccord Genuity offers a competitive total rewards package, which includes:

Performance-based bonuses, health and dental benefits offered through Manulife, a pension plan, and paid time off.
An Employee Stock Purchase Program with employer stock matching and additional employee benefits designed to support overall well-being.
Education reimbursement to support continuous learning and future career development.

A modern downtown Toronto office environment with on-site amenities, including barista services and an in-office gym.

At CG, we are committed to fostering an inclusive, accessible, and respectful workplace where diverse perspectives are valued. We welcome applications from all qualified individuals and will provide accommodations throughout the recruitment process upon request.
