About The Role:
Canaccord Genuity Corp., our Canadian operation, is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Investment Advisor Assistant to join The Lonsdale Financial Group in Ottawa. Led by established Senior Wealth Advisor and Portfolio Manager Brian Lonsdale, the group serves individuals, families and businesses with a forward-thinking approach grounded in realism, caution and accountability. In this role, you will help build and maintain strong client relationships, bringing exceptional multitasking and interpersonal skills to a growing team and office.
What you’ll be doing:
- Support Investment Advisors in building client relationships and a sustainable wealth management business.
- Assist with processing and confirming client transactions, provide quotes and execute trading orders as needed.
- Maintain account lists, databases and records, and compile statistical information and reports.
- Prepare new account applications and KYC updates, and process and follow up on documentation to maintain client accounts.
- Provide professional, efficient client service while maintaining confidentiality.
- Provide day-to-day administrative and special project support, managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Manage Investment Advisors’ calendars, coordinate client meetings and appointments, and resolve scheduling conflicts.
Who you are:
- Holding a CIRO Investment Representative license is preferred; candidates working toward their license are also welcome to apply.
- 2–3 years of related administrative experience, ideally within the securities industry.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to take initiative, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with employees and clients at all levels.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills and a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Nice to Have:
- Broad applicable knowledge of the securities industry.
- Experience using Dataphile, Envestnet, Salesforce or netx360.
- Licensed to trade for U.S. clients, or willing to obtain the applicable U.S. license.
Work Arrangement:
This role is expected to be in-office to support collaboration, team connectivity, and day-to-day business needs. The successful candidate should be comfortable working on-site on a regular basis, with any flexibility determined by the nature of the role, business requirements, and manager approval.
Total Rewards:
The expected base salary for this role is $55,000 - $70,000 and will be based on the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, Canaccord Genuity offers a competitive total rewards package, which may include:
- Performance-based bonuses, health and dental benefits offered through Manulife, and paid time off.
