Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Director, Retail Operations, the Product Owner, Retail Systems owns the Shopify POS product within the agile Retail Pod. The role sets priorities for point of sale, translates store and cross-functional needs into a clear and defensible backlog, leads the testing and rollout of every release, and acts as the connection point between store teams and internal technology partners - so that the systems our stores depend on enhance the customer experience, maximize efficiency and drive profitability.
What You'll Do:
Prioritization & Story Definition: Act as the decision-maker on Shopify POS backlog priority: write user stories and acceptance criteria, and rank work by store impact, commercial value and delivery effort.
Agile Pod Delivery: Participate as the Product Owner in the Retail Pod's agile ceremonies - backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-up, review and retrospective - partnering with the Scrum Master and development team to ensure each sprint delivers defined, accepted value.
Release Management: Lead release management for Shopify POS: assess Shopify platform release, plan the adoption of new versions and features, and communicate change to stores well ahead of deployment.
Performance Monitoring: Define and monitor product health measures such as transaction speed, checkout error rates, uptime and feature adoption, and report on them to Retail Operations leadership.
Let's Talk About You:
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a Product Owner (or equivalent) on Shopify POS, including direct ownership of a POS backlog, Shopify release adoption, and app/integration ecosystem decisions.
Demonstrated experience in Agile methodologies as a Product Owner within a scrum/pod delivery model, including backlog management, story writing and acceptance, and sprint execution.
Strong understanding of retail store operations and the connected retail stack (POS, payments, inventory, omni-channel fulfillment) in a luxury or premium retail context.

Salary Range:
$86,000.00 - $121,000.00 / year
