- Provide direction and exercise judgement on complex cases, helping underwriters balance customer needs, risk considerations, and profitability objectives.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with consultants and Business Development partners to influence outcomes and navigate difficult renewal discussions.
- Analyze market and competitor trends to identify opportunities, improve decision-making, and inform underwriting practices.
- Support National Accounts initiatives and work with cross-functional teams to advance business objectives.
- Champion operational excellence and innovation by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, enhance service delivery, and improve team effectiveness.

- University degrees in Business / Commerce, Finance, Actuarial Science, Economics, or a related field are considered an asset
- Leadership experience or a strong desire to step into a people leadership role
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, influencing, organization and time-management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify, assess, understand and mitigate insurance risks in a complex business environment
- A customer-focused mindset and a commitment to delivering outstanding service and business results
- The ability to collaborate effectively across a matrix organization and build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
- Expertise in underwriting practices and policy, with a clear understanding of the relationship between underwriting discipline and retention and sustainable profitability
- As this position is posted in several locations, bilingualism is an asset (fluent in French and English) but is required for Quebec only as the position will regularly serve customers with French and English-speaking needs.
- Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.
The base salary for this position is between $96,200 - $146,200 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
Career opportunities will be open a minimum of 5 business days from the date of posting, closing dates will vary depending on the search activity. All applications received will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
