Canada Packers is building the global standard for sustainable pork. Raised with care. Crafted with purpose. Trusted around the world.

We are a values-based organization that thrives on collaboration. Whether on a farm, production line, or in an office environment, team members embrace accountability and a continuous improvement mindset to drive sustained business growth.

Join us and be part of an exciting journey where your talent and passion can make a real impact!

About This Opportunity

Canada Packers is establishing an in-house maintenance operation to support our feed and livestock transportation fleets. We are looking for a proactive, hands-on Fleet Maintenance & Operations Manager to launch and lead our newly leased truck and trailer maintenance facility in Landmark, Manitoba.

Reporting to the Director, Operations & Business Development, you will build the operation from the ground up - establishing maintenance programs, sourcing equipment and parts, hiring and developing technicians, and creating cost-effective strategies that improve fleet reliability, uptime, and performance.

This is an opportunity for an experienced maintenance leader who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, and balancing day-to-day shop needs with long-term fleet strategy and continuous improvement.

Any Canada Packers team member interested in being considered for this role are encouraged to apply online by November 16, 2026. Applications received beyond that date are not guaranteed consideration.

Responsibilities

Launch and manage the Landmark maintenance facility.
Establish preventive maintenance programs, work order systems, inventory controls, and shop procedures.
Coordinate and prioritize maintenance for feed and livestock trucks and trailers.
Determine which repairs should be completed internally and coordinate major repairs and warranty work with external vendors.
Recruit, develop, and lead maintenance personnel while building a safe, productive, and accountable shop culture.
Set performance expectations and provide coaching and technical support.
Develop maintenance KPIs and monitor fleet performance, reliability, uptime, and operating costs.
Evaluate truck and trailer specifications, suppliers, components, and maintenance practices to improve value and service.
Manage vendors, parts procurement, inventory, maintenance budgets, expenditures, work orders, and reporting.
Support capital planning and equipment replacement recommendations.
Ensure compliance with applicable transportation, safety, environmental, and company requirements, including accurate maintenance and inspection records.

Skills & Experience

Red Seal Truck and Transport Mechanic certification is preferred; Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification or equivalent experience will also be considered.
Five to ten years of progressive experience in commercial truck and trailer maintenance and/or fleet operations.
Leadership experience in a maintenance, fleet, or transportation environment.
Experience managing employees, contractors, vendors, and maintenance budgets.
Strong knowledge of commercial truck and trailer maintenance systems and practices.
Experience with maintenance management systems, work order processes, and fleet compliance requirements.
Strong leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
A demonstrated ability to identify efficiencies, control costs, and drive continuous improvement.
A high degree of initiative, ownership, and the ability to balance hands-on operational involvement with strategic planning.
Commercial truck driving experience and exposure to livestock, agriculture, or transportation operations are considered assets.

What We Offer

Values based culture.
Competitive Health and Wellness benefits that offer flexibility to meet your individual or family needs, including programs focused on improving mental health and wellbeing. These benefits start on your first day of employment.
Defined Contribution Pension Plan with company matching that starts on your first day of employment.
Opportunities to develop your skills and progress your career.

We thank all applicants for their interest, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Applicants may be subject to a background check and must meet the security criteria designated for the position.

Championing diversity is a critical component of our culture. Accommodation is available upon request for applicants with disabilities in the recruitment and assessment process and when hired; please contact our Recruitment Team at
