THE ROLE
As a Home and Electronics Sales Associate, you provide retail services to a unique client base - members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and in assisting them, you are helping your community. You assist in the set-up of the electronics, computers, appliances, and furniture departments and provide technical and professional advice on sales and products offered. You assist with ordering stock and ensure that shelves are stocked, faced, and properly signed. You explain and sell extended warranty programs and accessories.
The Home and Electronics Sales Associate may also provide a variety of other retail services, including regular retail services, dry cleaning, lottery services, self-serve gas services, and postal services. You will operate Point of Sales systems, the debit/credit machine, and maintain a float. You may take and prepare food and beverage orders and prepare takeout food, while ensuring cleanliness of food service and eating areas.

Responsibilities
Set up and maintain the electronics, computers, appliances, and furniture departments; advise customers and sell products, extended warranties, and accessories. Order and merchandise stock, operate point-of-sale and payment systems, maintain a cash float, and may provide additional retail, postal, fuel, lottery, dry-cleaning, and food-service support.
Requirements
Applicants need an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience, with food handling certification as required. Experience in electronics, computers, furniture or appliances, extended warranty and accessory sales, cash handling, and sales merchandising is sought; basic English reading and writing and functional oral English are required.
