The Opportunity:

Are you a highly motivated self-starter with a demonstrated track record of executing high-quality work? If so, Canadian Natural has an amazing team waiting for you. Reporting to the Production Foreman, the Field Lead Operator is primarily responsible for front line leadership focusing on safely executing production opportunities, while ensuring a high level of project readiness.

Managing day-to-day operations while interfacing with Safety, Integrity, Environmental and various Engineering disciplines is both rewarding and challenging. Looking for your direction to actively promote a facts and data decision-making culture.

This role requires minimum 80% of the time to be on site with the balance of time in the office.

Job location: Progress Gas Plant, Ksituan and Spring Lake fields
- The successful applicant will be expected to live in the Grande Prairie, Spirit River or Dawson Creek area
Shift schedule: 8 days on, 6 days off - 10 hours per shift
Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:

Provide daily mentorship to team members with a clear display towards operational, technical, financial and safety excellence, as well as environmental responsibility
Provide hands-on competency SOCT training to team members
Assist with monitoring production volumes, working closely with a cross-functional team to maintain runtime performance > 97%
Utilize Continuous Improvement techniques and processes to support the areas’ safety, production, financial and environmental targets
Assist with monitoring compressor, facility, battery, and plant throughput relative to capability and initiate actions to optimize, correct deficiencies, and resolve operational problems
Provide local scheduling and supervision of projects as directed by the Production Foreman, Maintenance Foreman, or Assistant Foreman

What You Bring to the Role:

High school diploma/GED required
10+ years of oil & gas industry experience
GPO (Gas Plant Operator A-D) and/or PFO (Production Field Operations A-D) or a Journeyperson certificate or a Technology diploma
Power Engineering and Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification will be considered an asset
Demonstrated leadership skills and a proven safety track record with consecutive years of strong performance
Familiarity with and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements and training & teaching best practices
