Are you someone who leads by example and believes that safety, compliance, and accountability are the foundation s of every successful project? Do you excel at coordinating people, resources, and complex field activities to keep critical work moving forward safely and efficiently? Our Chalk River location is looking for a Job Supervisor to provide leadership, oversight, and coordination of field operations while ensuring compliance with CNL procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety expectations. What you will be doing!

Reviewing and commenting on documents related to the CRL Decommissioning Facilities program.
Responding to calls during non-business hours and resolving emergency calls.
Maintaining, updating, and ensuring CRL Decommissioning Facilities program is following the preventive maintenance program and completing all maintenance, Storage-with Surveillance (SwS), and compliance activities on-time.
Supervising and delegating work to a team of up to 20 staff.
Supporting the development and implementation of training.
Providing coaching as necessary.
Authorizing timesheets, leave approvals, vacation, and overtime.
Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What We Are Looking For

Education

Secondary School graduation with advanced level in Math, Science, and English or equivalent.

Experience

A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a nuclear environment or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Computer literate in the Microsoft suite of products (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access).
Demonstrated strong communication skills.
Ability to follow procedures, plans, and work assignments.
Demonstrated ability to perform under stress when confronted with emergency, unusual, or hazardous conditions and to lead others in such conditions.

Security Clearance Eligibility Required

Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

Working Conditions

Working schedule: Four (4) days per week, ten (10) hours per day for a forty (40) hour work week.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate field operations and a team of up to 20 staff, ensuring work is completed safely and in compliance with procedures, regulations, and schedules. Oversee maintenance, storage-with-surveillance and compliance activities, respond to after-hours emergencies, review program documents, and support staff training and administration.

Requirements

Requires secondary school graduation with advanced-level mathematics, science, and English, or an equivalent qualification, and at least 10 years of experience in a nuclear environment or equivalent. Candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, communicate effectively, follow procedures, and lead others under stressful or hazardous conditions; eligibility for Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance is also required.
