Position Summary
Canadian Plains is seeking Structural welders with relevant experience in structural steel welding and rigging/hoisting. Welders must take pride in their work and see that Canadian Plain’s high standards of safety and quality are always met.

POSITION & PROJECT DETAILS
- Candidates must be local to Estevan or willing to relocate
- Must be Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- Be able to read and interpret structural drawing.
- Understand all welding details and meet required weld sizes.
- Torch and plasma cutting.
- Operating a band saw.
- Participate in CPES safety program.
- Performs welding at a very high standard.
- Gather parts for welded or bolted assemblies.
- Fit and weld assemblies as per drawings.
- Clean and prep beams, tubes and plates for welding.
- Rig and hoist steel during fabrication and after assemblies or structures are completed.
- CWB all position in FCAW/MCAW
- Journeyman Welder 2nd and 3rd year apprentice will be considered
- Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- CPES orientation provided
- 40+ hours per week
- Standing, walking, and lifting regularly
- Fast-paced environment requiring manual dexterity, repetitive tasks, and extended periods of standing

Responsibilities
Weld, fit, and assemble structural steel components according to drawings and required weld specifications, while preparing beams, tubes, and plates. Gather parts and rig or hoist steel during fabrication and after assemblies or structures are completed, while meeting safety and quality standards.
Requirements
Candidates must have CWB all-position FCAW/MCAW certification; journeyperson welders are sought, though second- and third-year apprentices will also be considered. Applicants must be local to Estevan or willing to relocate, be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, interpret structural drawings, and pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
