The Role
As the Civil Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful execution of heavy civil infrastructure projects from start to finish.
You will work closely with Superintendents, Project Coordinators, Estimators, subcontractors, consultants, and municipal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
This role requires strong leadership, technical understanding of civil construction, and the ability to manage multiple project components in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage heavy civil infrastructure
projects from pre-construction through completion
- Oversee project budgets,
schedules, forecasting, and cost control
- Coordinate Superintendents,
Project Coordinators, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Manage client, consultant, and
municipal relationships throughout project delivery
- Support procurement, subcontract
management, and construction planning activities
- Monitor project progress and
proactively address risks and issues
- Ensure compliance with contract
requirements, specifications, and safety standards
- Lead project meetings, reporting,
and communication with stakeholders
- Support change management,
claims, and project documentation
- Collaborate with estimating and
operations teams on project execution strategies
- Ensure strong health & safety
performance across all site activities
- Contribute to continuous
improvement of project delivery processes
Who You Are
- 7+ years of Project Management
experience in heavy civil or municipal infrastructure construction
- Strong experience with:
- Sewer & watermain
installation
- Underground utilities
- Road construction and
rehabilitation
- Deep excavation and earthworks
- Municipal or transportation
infrastructure projects
- Proven ability to manage full
project lifecycle responsibilities
- Strong understanding of
construction sequencing, scheduling, and cost control
- Excellent communication,
leadership, and organizational skills
- Experience managing
subcontractors, field teams, and client relationships
- Comfortable working in
fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
and project management tools
- Civil Engineering, Construction
Management, or related background considered an asset
