Superintendent – Water & Wastewater Infrastructure

GTA | Pump Stations & Treatment Plants | $200K+ Total Earning Potential

Canterra Group has been engaged to recruit an experienced Superintendent for an established civil infrastructure contractor in the Greater Toronto Area.

We're looking for a construction professional who knows how to build pump stations, water treatment plants and wastewater treatment facilities and can take ownership of complex projects in the field.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Superintendent to join a contractor with a strong infrastructure project pipeline and take a key leadership role delivering essential municipal infrastructure across the GTA.

The Opportunity

As Superintendent, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day field leadership and successful execution of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Leading construction activities on pump station and water/wastewater treatment projects
  • Planning and coordinating daily site operations
  • Managing subcontractors, trades and site personnel
  • Coordinating civil, structural, mechanical and electrical scopes
  • Developing short-term schedules and ensuring critical milestones are achieved
  • Working closely with Project Managers, consultants and owners
  • Managing site logistics, sequencing and constructability issues
  • Maintaining high standards for safety, quality and productivity
  • Identifying field issues early and developing practical solutions
  • Supporting commissioning, turnover and project closeout

Requirements

What We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in speaking with Superintendents who have direct experience building pump stations or water/wastewater treatment facilities.

Relevant Experience Could Include

  • Municipal pump and pumping stations
  • Water treatment plants
  • Wastewater treatment plants
  • Sewage treatment facilities
  • Major plant upgrades and expansions
  • Process piping and mechanical systems
  • Concrete tanks and process structures
  • Underground utilities and site servicing
  • Complex civil, mechanical and electrical coordination

You'll understand that these projects are very different from straightforward road or sewer work. We're looking for someone comfortable coordinating multiple disciplines and managing the sequencing, commissioning and operational requirements associated with complex treatment infrastructure.

Benefits

Why Consider the Opportunity?

· This is a senior field leadership position offering the opportunity to work on significant infrastructure projects while joining an established contractor with a strong presence in the Ontario market.

· The compensation reflects the level of experience we're looking for, with total earning potential in the $200,000+ range, depending on experience and the overall compensation structure.

· For someone who has developed a strong reputation delivering water and wastewater infrastructure, this is an opportunity to take on challenging projects with a contractor that understands this specialized sector.

· If you're currently employed and not actively looking, that's completely fine. We'd still be interested in having a confidential conversation about your experience and what the right next step in your career would need to look like.
