Role Overview:

Implement approved workflow migration designs using Camunda 7, Spring Boot, Java, React, TypeScript, and the Workflow Unified API. Convert review-approved contracts into secure, tested, executable implementation without inventing business behavior.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Implement Camunda 7 process applications packaged and deployed using Spring Boot.
Convert approved process designs into executable BPMN with process variables, tasks, gateways, timers, errors, and boundary events.
Integrate Camunda with the Workflow Unified API and external delegate services.
Implement delegate service contracts and adapters in the separate Workflow Unified API repository.
Implement database, REST, Kafka, SAP, notification, document, and file integrations according to approved contracts.
Implement retries, timeouts, idempotency, compensation, error handling, correlation IDs, audit events, and operational metrics.
Implement Workflow Unified API endpoints for process start, task discovery, claim, completion, process details, variables, and status.
Implement external request validation, DTO-to-Camunda conversion, Camunda response-to-DTO conversion, API versioning, and consistent error models.
Implement authentication, authorization, tenant isolation, and field-level access controls.
Build approved React screens, routes, forms, validation, loading, empty, success, error, and permission-aware states.
Write unit, integration, process, API, UI, and browser tests.
Validate BPMN XML, Camunda references, API contracts, generated artifacts, and source traceability.
Troubleshoot build, runtime, API, workflow, integration, and deployment issues.

Required Experience:

5+ years of Java development experience.
Strong Spring Boot, REST API, SQL, and relational database experience.
Hands-on Camunda 7 BPMN, process variables, external tasks, service tasks, and delegate experience.
Strong React and TypeScript development experience.
Experience with JUnit 5, Mockito, Spring Boot Test, Jest, React Testing Library, and browser testing.
Experience with Kafka or another event-streaming platform.
Experience with OAuth2/OIDC, secure API development, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and observability.

Preferred Experience:

Appian migration or SAIL form conversion experience.
Camunda external task clients and workers.
SAP, REST, SOAP, file, document, and notification integrations.
OpenAPI, JSON Schema, contract testing, Pact, Testcontainers, and runtime integration testing.
Accessibility testing, browser automation, and AI-assisted development tools.

Expected Deliverables:

Executable Camunda 7 Spring Boot process applications.
External delegate services in the Workflow Unified API repository.
Secure, tested Workflow Unified APIs.
React Workflow Unified Interface screens.
Unit, integration, API, process, UI, and browser tests.
BPMN validation and deployment artifacts.
Logging, metrics, health checks, runbooks, and source-to-code traceability.

The hourly compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $58-$75 CAD.

Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws.
