We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Quality Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust automated testing frameworks and test suites to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications. This role requires strong expertise in Java, Groovy, Spock Framework, API testing, SQL, and CI/CD practices, along with a passion for automation and quality engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites using Java, Groovy, and Spock Framework.
- Create and execute comprehensive test strategies covering:
- Unit Testing
- Integration Testing
- Functional Testing
- Regression Testing
- End-to-End Testing
- API Testing
- Performance Testing
- Build scalable automation solutions to improve test coverage, reliability, and release quality.
- Perform UI testing across web applications and ensure consistent user experiences.
- Validate APIs and backend services to ensure system reliability, functionality, and data integrity.
- Write and execute complex SQL queries for database testing, data validation, and troubleshooting.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing initiatives.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to define quality requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve defects through effective debugging and root cause analysis.
- Promote quality engineering best practices, including shift-left testing and automation-first approaches.
- Develop and execute accessibility testing strategies to ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
- Partner with Engineering and UX teams to identify and remediate accessibility issues across applications.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong programming experience in Java and Groovy.
- Hands-on experience with the Spock Framework and automated test development.
- Deep understanding of software testing methodologies, including:
- Unit Testing
- Integration Testing
- System Testing
- Regression Testing
- Smoke Testing
- End-to-End Testing
- Experience with API testing and automation tools/frameworks.
- Strong SQL and database validation experience across relational databases.
- Experience working with CI/CD tools such as:
- Jenkins
- GitHub Actions
- Azure DevOps
- Similar automation platforms
- Experience with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with performance and load testing tools.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards including WCAG and accessibility testing tools.
- Experience working in enterprise-scale Agile environments.
- Exposure to DevOps practices and continuous quality engineering.

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is $87000 to $95,000.
Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.
The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.
In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
