Business Development Associate – Multi-Family Office
Summary
Our client is a growing local Canadian multi-family office serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families.
We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Business Development Associate to support prospect research, LinkedIn-based business development, outreach, relationship building, and lead generation. Working closely with the CEO, you will identify and engage qualified prospects, help create introductory meeting opportunities, and provide additional support with client coordination, social media, and selected administrative tasks.
The ideal candidate understands financial services, is highly comfortable using LinkedIn and conducting research, and is confident engaging with senior professionals, business owners, executives, and high-net-worth individuals.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Prospect Research
- Identify and research prospective clients, referral partners, business owners, senior executives, and other relevant high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth contacts based on criteria provided by the CEO.
- Use LinkedIn and other professional channels to identify active prospects, assess their backgrounds, and develop targeted outreach lists.
- Conduct online research to understand prospects’ businesses, industries, professional networks, and potential relevance to the Company.
- Initiate outreach through LinkedIn, email, and phone, including cold outreach, with the objective of generating interest and arranging introductory meetings with the CEO.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with prospective clients and referral contacts, track responses and next steps, and keep the CEO informed of promising opportunities.
- Leverage personal and professional networks where appropriate and develop an initial understanding of prospects’ potential wealth-management or multi-family-office needs without providing financial advice.
Administrative & Marketing Content Support
- Coordinate selected scheduling, meetings, client follow-up, document preparation, and other administrative activities related to business development.
- Prepare and proofread presentations, correspondence, meeting materials, and maintain accurate and confidential client and prospect records.
- Support the CEO’s LinkedIn and other professional social media activities, including content planning, topic research, and post preparation.
- Assist with short-form video and other marketing content, including coordinating filming, preparing talking points, and supporting the Company’s professional online presence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in financial services or a related financial institution, with a good understanding of the industry and one year of professional working experience in Canada is preferred.
- Outgoing, sociable, and relationship-oriented, with the confidence to initiate conversations, build rapport, and engage professionally with new contacts.
- Highly familiar with LinkedIn and comfortable using it actively for prospect research, networking, outreach, and relationship development.
- Proactive, organized, and self-motivated, with strong communication, research, follow-up, and execution skills; experience with high-net-worth clients, professional networks, or social media/content creation is an asset.
Compensation, Benefits & Work Location
- Generous base salary, plus a very competitive deal-linked bonus.
- Opportunity to work directly with the CEO and gain hands-on exposure to family-office business development, wealth-management relationships, and ultra-high-net-worth client development.
- Work arrangement: hybrid, with 3 days per week in the company’s North York, Toronto office. In-office requirements may change based on business needs.
- Paid time off and holidays.
- Health, dental, and vision benefits.
