Duties And Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Undergraduate Studies, the incumbent works in a highly collegial, service-oriented environment and provides administrative, coordination, and training support for Teaching Assistants within the Sprott School of Business. The incumbent administratively supports the full Teaching Assistant lifecycle, including onboarding, orientation, training coordination, communications, scheduling, documentation, and ongoing support to Teaching Assistants.. The position helps ensure Teaching Assistants receive timely information, understand School and University expectations, and have access to the resources and processes required to support high-quality teaching and learning.

Qualifications

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

The ability to effectively use MS Office applications, Brightspace or other learning management systems, shared drives, databases, spreadsheets, and communication tools used to support Teaching Assistant administration and training;
Knowledge of School and University structures, procedures, academic regulations, Teaching Assistant processes, student support expectations, and relevant privacy, accessibility, and academic integrity requirements.
Excellent organizational and administrative skills; must have the ability to organize work effectively in a fast-paced office environment, set priorities and meet strict deadlines.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must have the ability to professionally represent the School with discretion, tact and diplomacy, and deal effectively with faculty members/contract instructors, students, staff and the public.
Must have demonstrated excellence in customer service including experience working in a public service area.

Education And Experience

The above is normally acquired through the completion of:

Completion of a university degree, or an acceptable equivalent.
Minimum one (1) year work experience in post-secondary education administration, academic support, teaching support coordination, student services, training coordination, or an acceptable equivalent.
