Server Assistant

Company Description Carlino Restaurant is a dining establishment located at 1115 Alberni Street in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The restaurant is part of the vibrant downtown Vancouver hospitality scene, serving guests who expect high-quality food, beverage, and service, and is connected to the Hyatt Vancouver Downtown Alberni.

The Server Assistant position is responsible for supporting the service team by ensuring tables are clean, stocked, and ready for guests while assisting in maintaining a smooth dining experience. The Server Assistant plays a crucial role in the restaurant's operations, helping to enhance guest satisfaction by providing prompt and attentive service. Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively are essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Assist servers by clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables efficiently.
• Support the flow of service by delivering food and beverages as needed.
• Refill water glasses and non-alcoholic beverages promptly.
• Anticipate guest needs by observing tables and responding to requests.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area, server stations, and workspaces.
• Assist in restocking essential service items such as glassware, utensils, and napkins.
• Communicate effectively with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service.
• Provide support in handling guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism.
• Uphold sanitation and safety standards throughout the restaurant.
• Assist with bussing and resetting tables to optimize table turnover.
• Follow all hospitality protocols to ensure a positive guest experience.
• Complete all end-of-shift duties, including cleaning and restocking.
• Complete side work and special duties as assigned.

Credentials and/or Experience Preferred

• Previous experience as a server assistant, busser, or in the hospitality industry preferred.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and efficiency.
• Basic knowledge of restaurant service flow and sanitation standards.
