In this role, you will act as a key support anchor by handling daily publishing across owned social channels, conducting social listening, assisting with dark ads and paid content promos, and troubleshooting website functionality. You will report to the Digital Marketing Manager to help bring overall digital and social media strategies to life. The ideal candidate possesses an exceptional attention to detail and thrives in a highly collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Social Publishing & Channel Administration:

  • Execute day-to-day posting, scheduling, and queue management across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest.
  • Utilize third-party scheduling and publishing software (e.g., Brandwatch) to ensure content goes live accurately and on schedule with strict adherence to brand standards.
  • Maintain and monitor the content calendar under the direction of the Digital Marketing Manager.
  • Monitor brand pages and assist in maintaining professional community engagement across all active social channels.

Social Listening & Consumer Trend Monitoring

  • Conduct active social listening using specialized platforms (e.g., Brandwatch) to monitor brand sentiment, online conversations, and emerging industry trends.
  • Track evolving social media platform updates, new feature rollouts, and viral video/text trends to support digital strategy execution.
  • Compile and deliver detailed weekly and/or monthly performance reporting on organic post reach, engagement metrics, and social listening insights.

Digital Campaign & Paid Advertising Support

  • Assist the Digital Marketing Specialist in setting up, testing, and executing paid social ad campaigns through Meta Ads Manager.
  • Help prepare accurate layout specs, text formats, and video outline briefs for digital campaigns to pass along to the internal design team.
  • Support social tracking targets on paid ads to support retargeting strategies and build valuable audience profiles to support wider sales objectives.

Website, WordPress & Plugin Support

  • Provide hands-on assistance with basic WordPress CMS management, page updates, and promotional banner placements.
  • Support basic website troubleshooting, plugin checks/updates, and functional site maintenance using basic HTML and CSS.
  • Assist in updating landing pages, promotional links, and promotional web assets provided by the lead specialist, ensuring all links, images, and formatting are meticulously tested and have meaningful tracking parameters.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Interactive Media, Commerce, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a social media, digital marketing, and/or website assistant role.
  • Exceptional, meticulous attention to detail with a track record of proofreading copy, double-checking ad targeting/links, and ensuring quality control across all digital deliverables.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a team-first mindset; highly comfortable working in a supportive, collaborative environment and taking direction from senior specialists and cross-functional teams.
  • Solid understanding of Meta ad setup/technologies (Meta Ads Manager) and native platform mechanics (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest).
  • Direct experience using social media publishing and social listening platforms (Brandwatch experience is a strong asset).
  • Working knowledge of WordPress and WordPress plugins, alongside basic HTML/CSS skills for formatting and troubleshooting.
  • Experience or familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud software (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is a strong asset for basic asset sizing, layout preparation, and graphic tweaks. Experience with UX and UI interfaces like Balsamiq, for basic wire frames, and Figma, for medium-to-high fidelity wireframing, is an asset.
  • Strong business writing/copy skills, highly developed communication and organizational skills, along with demonstrated effective time management skills.
