Family Law Lawyer - Waterloo Region
Make a real difference for clients while building your practice with full firm support
Location: Waterloo Region, Ontario
Compensation: $115,000 – $165,000 base, plus performance-based bonus and additional compensation
Posting type: Existing vacancy
Are you an experienced family lawyer who combines courtroom strength with genuine compassion for your clients? My client, a respected full-service firm, is looking for a Family Law Lawyer to join its established Family Law group in Waterloo Region.
The practice
The group represents individuals through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. The approach is strategic and compassionate, and it is focused on results. The mandate covers:
- Separation and divorce
- Parenting and decision-making responsibility
- Child and spousal support
- Property division
- Domestic contracts
- Complex and high-conflict matters before the courts and tribunals
Every file gets a tailored approach. Negotiation, mediation and litigation are all on the table, depending on what will actually get the client a durable outcome.
Why this role stands out
- Grow what you’ve built: Bring your established practice and expand it with real support behind you: operational and marketing resources plus internal referrals from across the firm.
- Litigation depth: You’ll join a team of experienced litigators when high-conflict files demand it.
- Culture: The private-practice culture is collaborative and familial, and it invests in your professional growth.
- Meaningful work: You’ll practise in a group that measures success by the outcomes it secures for families, not just by billable hours.
What you bring
- 5+ years of family law experience
- An established practice or client base you’re looking to grow
- Excellent client-service skills, with empathy and sound judgment
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including advocacy
- Self-motivation
- Good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
