Aviation Technical Trainer – Engine Modules

Location: Montreal, Quebec

Company Overview

The organization owns and maintains commercial jet engines with a focus on CFM56 and V2500 engines. Its proprietary portfolio of products, including the Module Factory and a joint venture to manufacture engine PMA, enables it to provide cost savings and flexibility to airline, lessor, and maintenance, repair, and operations customer bases. Additionally, the organization owns and leases jet aircraft, which often facilitates the acquisition of engines at attractive prices. The company invests in aviation assets and aerospace products that generate strong and stable cash flows with the potential for earnings growth and asset appreciation.

Operations are global, with offices in New York, Miami, Montréal, Singapore, Dubai, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.

Job Overview

The Technical Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality technical training within an aviation Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) environment, with a focus on engine modules and core maintenance fundamentals. Responsibilities

Deliver and facilitate classroom instruction, workshops, and hands-on technical training focused on engine components and core maintenance modules.
Prepare and manage the training environment, ensuring tools, equipment, materials, and safety standards reflect operational shop floor conditions.
Administer and evaluate technical assessments and readiness evaluations, documenting trainee performance in accordance with established procedures.
Monitor trainee progress through defined learning paths, identify competency gaps, and provide coaching or corrective guidance as needed.
Validate technician competency in both theoretical knowledge and practical application, providing objective final sign-off for module qualification readiness.
Contribute to continuous improvement of training content and delivery methods through feedback and collaboration with technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

2-5 years of experience as a trainer or in a technical lead role.
Diploma in a technical field related to Aviation Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO); a Bachelor's degree in a related field is considered an asset.
Strong technical competency in engine module maintenance, including teardown, inspection, and build-up activities.
Broad industrial experience and solid understanding of aviation regulations and compliance requirements.
Knowledge of instructional techniques and adult learning principles.
Knowledge of CFM56 engines is considered an asset.
Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Strong team player with a demonstrated focus on developing others.
Proficient in both French and English (spoken and written).
