Position Overview
We are seeking a technically strong Propulsion Engineer to support maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations within a leading aerospace services environment. This role serves as a key engineering resource for production teams, providing technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and engineering solutions related to complex propulsion systems.
The successful candidate will work closely with operations, quality, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues, support investigation activities, maintain regulatory compliance, and contribute to the overall efficiency and reliability of engine overhaul programs.
To support operational needs, opportunities may be available on day, evening, or weekend schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical engineering support to production and maintenance teams during engine overhaul and repair activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and operations personnel to evaluate inspection findings and resolve technical issues.
- Review and disposition engineering non-conformances and repair requirements while supporting operational turnaround objectives.
- Serve as a technical resource for troubleshooting propulsion system and component-related concerns.
- Communicate engineering recommendations and technical findings to internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Participate in root cause investigations, reliability reviews, and corrective action initiatives.
- Ensure engineering documentation and work instructions comply with applicable technical, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Support the development, review, and improvement of engineering procedures and technical processes.
- Assist in evaluating repair solutions, alternative methods, and engineering dispositions for serviceable components.
- Work closely with other engineering disciplines to support continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Approximately 5 years of engineering experience within aerospace, propulsion systems, maintenance operations, or a comparable technical environment.
- Familiarity with aviation regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Knowledge of gas turbine engines, propulsion systems, rotating equipment, or related mechanical assemblies.
- Experience supporting technical troubleshooting, investigations, and engineering analyses.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and maintenance documentation.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating within cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard engineering tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting commercial aerospace maintenance, repair, or overhaul operations.
- Exposure to engine testing, validation, or performance evaluation activities.
- Knowledge of repair development, engineering approvals, certification processes, or delegated engineering environments.
- Familiarity with reliability engineering, quality systems, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience working in highly regulated industrial, aviation, or manufacturing environments.
