In CASA’s day programs, children attend as they would a community school. The family and care team work together to support the child’s social, emotional, academic and physical development. Areas of focus include social skills, academic functioning, and emotional and sensory awareness.

Participate in group facilitation alongside the Occupational Therapist.
Provide direct support to the programs as needed to cover breaks and when required to ensure child regulation and engagement within the classroom environment.
Perform a variety of administrative and organizational tasks such as filing, photocopying, laminating and scheduling appointments.
Collaborate with and assist the Occupational Therapist in developing programming, materials and activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong interpersonal and rapport-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, patients and families.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Ability to take direction and follow tasks, activities and programs established by Occupational Therapists.
Knowledge of behaviour management strategies for children and adolescents.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.
