Tasks
- Diagnose and locate equipment faults, and adjust, replace or repair telecommunications equipment
- Install, arrange, remove and maintain telephone equipment, wiring and associated hardware
- Repair or replace defective telephone equipment
- Test installed telephone systems to locate transmission faults
- Analyze test results and adjust, change or repair switching system, network, associated equipment and software
- Complete and maintain test and service reports
- Determine nature, cause and location of trouble
- Train or assist in the training of other workers

Responsibilities
Diagnose faults in telecommunications equipment and telephone systems, then install, maintain, test, adjust, or repair equipment, wiring, networks, and associated software. Document test and service results, determine the cause and location of problems, and train or assist other workers.
Requirements
Requires a college or CEGEP education, or equivalent experience, and 2 to less than 3 years of experience. Candidates should have telephone system knowledge and telephone installation and repair experience, along with strong communication, organization, reliability, client focus, and teamwork skills.
