About Cavtera

Cavtera builds digital solutions that connect real-world operations with data, software, and decision-making. We work closely with clients to understand how their businesses operate on the ground, then translate those workflows into scalable applications and data systems using Palantir Foundry.

Our team operates with the pace, ownership, and adaptability of a startup while solving complex operational problems for established businesses. We work directly alongside our clients, from the field to the executive level, to build technology that delivers measurable improvements to how their businesses operate.

The Role

The Engagement Director will work closely with the Product Manager and Customer Success Manager to ensure strong delivery performance, product quality, and long-term client success.

As the Engagement Director, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day people management, mentorship, and performance of the Engagement Manager team, while providing oversight across our portfolio of client engagements. You’ll ensure our teams consistently deliver meaningful business outcomes, maintain strong client relationships, and meet our standards for quality and accountability.

We’re looking for an experienced leader who understands complex client delivery environments, knows how to develop high-performing teams, and can establish the structure and processes needed to scale an organization. You’ll serve as the primary escalation point for Engagement Managers, help navigate challenging client situations, and work closely with leadership to ensure our engagements remain successful and commercially healthy.

This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys developing people, solving complex delivery challenges, and building the foundations of a high-performing organization in a fast-growing company.

What You'll Do

  • Lead Engagement Managers: Own the day-to-day people management of the EM team, including performance, workload balancing, team health, individual development, and accountability.
  • Coach and develop the team: Provide mentorship, identify skill gaps, and upskill Engagement Managers in delivery management, client communication, product thinking, and leadership.
  • Oversee engagement delivery: Maintain visibility across client engagements, ensuring teams consistently meet delivery commitments, quality standards, and intended business outcomes.
  • Serve as the escalation path: Act as the primary escalation point for Engagement Managers, helping resolve complex client challenges, delivery risks, resource conflicts, and issues requiring leadership intervention.
  • Establish delivery standards: Develop and continuously improve engagement management processes, operating procedures, and best practices to drive consistency and scalability.
  • Own engagement portfolio performance: Oversee commercial health, scope management, resource utilization, and profitability across client engagements.
  • Support accounts receivable: Partner with Engagement Managers and Finance to resolve outstanding receivables, address client payment issues, and support timely collection.
  • Strengthen client relationships: Build and maintain relationships with key client stakeholders and executives, supporting Engagement Managers in maintaining alignment, confidence, and satisfaction.
  • Build a high-performing organization: Support hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, career development, and succession planning as the team grows.
  • Support engagement growth: Work with Engagement Managers and leadership to identify expansion opportunities, strengthen existing partnerships, and support sustainable revenue growth.
  • Champion Cavtera’s operating principles: Reinforce Field First, Ruthless Simplicity, Match Reality, and first-principles thinking to ensure our solutions reflect how businesses actually operate.

What We're Looking For

  • 7-15 years of experience in client delivery, professional services, consulting, or a similar client-facing leadership environment.
  • Proven experience directly managing, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of project and engagement management principles, including delivery planning, resource allocation, scope management, and risk-mitigation.
  • Experience overseeing multiple client engagements or projects simultaneously, with accountability for delivery performance and commercial outcomes.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to develop individuals, address performance challenges, and build a culture of ownership and – accountability.
  • Excellent client relationship management and communication skills, including experience working with senior stakeholders and executives.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving abilities, with the confidence to navigate escalations, resolve conflicts, and make difficult decisions.
  • Experience establishing and improving operational processes to support organizational growth and consistent service delivery.
  • Commercial awareness, including an understanding of engagement profitability, resource utilization, and financial performance.
  • A high degree of autonomy, adaptability, and comfort operating in a fast-paced, growing organization.
  • Willingness to periodically travel to client sites to support engagement delivery and strengthen client relationships.

Nice To Have

  • Experience in customer success, including client retention strategies, account health management, and long-term value realization.
  • Experience in software development, digital transformation, or technology consulting environments.
  • Experience working at a large consulting or professional services firm.
  • Familiarity with software product management principles and modern software delivery practices.
  • Experience scaling a professional services or consulting organization through periods of rapid growth.
  • Experience in the construction, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
  • Experience building leadership development programs, mentoring frameworks, or structured career progression pathways.
  • Familiarity with Palantir Foundry or enterprise software implementation projects.
