About the Role
As a CBRE Assistant Operations Manager, you will assist in leading the operational and technical performance of a Class A commercial office building. You will support the management of building operations, maintenance programs, capital projects, financial performance, tenant relationships, environmental initiatives, and operational staff.

This position is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function and is responsible for supporting preventive maintenance, repairs, technical operations, operational excellence, and client satisfaction.

What You’ll Do:

Operations & Building Systems

• Support the operation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building automation systems, life safety systems, emergency generators, and fire protection systems.
• Assist in monitoring preventative maintenance programs and ensure compliance with service level agreements and maintenance schedules.
• Ensure mechanics, technicians, contractors, and vendors have the information and resources required to complete assignments safely and efficiently.
• Respond to operational emergencies and coordinate resources to resolve issues.
• Monitor building performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and service delivery.

Leadership & Team Management

• Assist in supervising operations staff, technicians, contractors, and service providers.
• Coordinate daily activities, work schedules, task assignments, and cross-training initiatives.
• Support employee recruitment, onboarding, development, coaching, and performance management.
• Conduct and assist with employee evaluations and objective setting.
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Financial & Business Management

• Assist in preparing, tracking, and reporting operating and capital budgets.
• Develop labor and material cost estimates for maintenance activities and projects.
• Help manage departmental expenses while supporting annual business objectives.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational excellence.
• Support financial planning, forecasting, and reporting requirements.

Tenant, Client & Stakeholder Relations

• Maintain strong relationships with tenants, clients, contractors, and service providers.
• Assist in resolving tenant concerns and operational issues in a professional and timely manner.
• Coordinate activities with project teams and construction groups to ensure property interests are represented and protected.
• Ensure contractors comply with all building policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
Strategic Initiatives & Compliance
• Assist in developing and implementing operational goals and initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for improved efficiency, sustainability, and energy management.
• Maintain regulatory documentation, records, and compliance requirements.
• Evaluate business processes and recommend operational improvements.
• Support implementation of company policies, procedures, and organizational initiatives.
• Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values.
