About The Role
The Accounting Manager is accountable for the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting across a portfolio of national accounts and enterprise platforms. This role owns the full month-end close cycle,
including journal entry preparation and review, balance sheet reconciliation approvals, and direct financial analysis for leadership. The manager operates as the primary financial point of contact for assigned clients
and internal stakeholders.
What You'll Do
Month-End Close and Journal Entries
- Prepare and review a broad range of month-end journal entries and accruals, including client-specific entries, allocations, reclassifications, funding transactions, and enterprise and platform-related accounting activities.
- Ensure entries are completed accurately and on schedule to support timely financial reporting.
Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Review and approve monthly balance sheet reconciliations across cash, receivable, payable, intercompany, accrual, and deferred revenue accounts.
- Confirm that outstanding items are appropriately supported, investigated, and resolved as part of the close process.
Financial Analysis and Management Reporting
- Lead the monthly financial review process by preparing Management Business Review (MBR) presentations, completing variance analysis, and presenting financial results to leadership.
- Conduct monthly Direct Reimbursement (DR) and Indirect Reimbursement (IR) analyses across assigned clients to confirm that revenue and cost recoveries are complete and accurate.
- Perform detailed profit and loss reviews across all assigned clients and Platform Enterprise Financial Management Centers (FMCs) to identify variances, validate results, and ensure accurate reporting.
Budgeting and Financial Planning
- Support budgeting and financial planning activities for Non-Client, Country Operations, and Shared Office functions, including budget tracking, GL reporting, annual budget preparation, headcount allocation, and financial reporting support.
Operational and Banking Activities
- Review and approve operational financial transactions, including expense reports, accounts payable invoice submissions, and bank wire transactions.
- Manage banking and cash-related activities, including statement distribution, unapplied cash oversight and coordination with shared services teams on close-related deliverables.
What You'll Need
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
- 5 or more years of progressive financial reporting and month-end close experience, ideally in a multi-client or corporate services environment.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple account types.
- Strong analytical skills with a track record of delivering MBR-level financial presentations to leadership.
- Familiarity with intercompany accounting, cost allocation methodologies, and reimbursement analysis.
- Proficiency in ERP and general ledger systems; experience with budgeting and financial planning tools is an asset.
- Effective communicator who can distill complex financial information for both finance and non-finance audiences.
