Original job description

CDAl builds the digital and intelligence layer powering Compass Group, one of the world’s largest foodservice and support services organizations.

This role sits in our Finance domain, where our customers are finance, controllership, and field operations leaders. We have built a shared AI forecasting platform used across thousands of operating units to project revenue, labor, product costs, and P&L outcomes.

While the machine learning models are strong, the true product challenge lies in the ecosystem around them: defining authoritative metrics, creating trust in automated outputs, resolving accounting nuances, and driving business adoption. As Product Manager, you will own the requirements, backlog, and roadmap across our forecasting portfolio, bridging the gap between field operations, corporate finance, and technical delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio & Backlog Ownership: Translate ambiguous financial problems into clear epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Prioritize features across multiple competing use cases and hold firm MVP boundaries.

Accuracy Strategy & Governance: Define, benchmark, and defend accuracy metrics across different financial use cases. Establish baselines against legacy manual processes and partner with data science to align metrics with business objectives.

Financial & Data Alignment: Partner with controllership and FP&A to account for complex financial mechanics - such as fiscal period structures, GL groupings, and data posting schedules - within the product architecture.

Stakeholder Alignment & Decision Driving: Facilitate alignment between executive leaders on metric definitions, governance, and accountability structures.

Product Trust & Transparency: Design feature capabilities that offer auditability, clear model explainability, user override logic, and snapshotting capabilities.

Rollout & Adoption: Oversee pilot design, success criteria, user access rules, and deployment schedules, tailoring releases around core operational blackouts (e.g., year-end close).

What You Bring

2+ years as a Product Manager delivering enterprise software or data/AI products in an Agile environment.

Hands-on experience with Forecasting or Predictive ML products: You have owned products where time-series forecasts, demand projections, or financial numbers drive user decisions, and you have owned accuracy and baseline metrics directly.

Financial & Commercial Literacy: Comfortable navigating P&L dynamics, variance analysis, and operational numbers (formal accounting degree not required).

Data Fluency: Proven ability to diagnose whether performance bottlenecks stem from model architecture, pipeline logic, or underlying source-system data quality.

Executive Stakeholder Management: Ability to lead decision-making workshops, resolve conflicting mandates across functions, and defend product trade-offs.

What Will Make You Stand Out

Cross-Domain Forecasting Experience: Background in demand forecasting, supply chain planning, inventory optimization, or FP&A/corporate finance platforms.

Enterprise ERP & Systems Integration: Experience integrating products alongside enterprise ERPs or planning tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, Anaplan).

Technical Familiarity: Understanding of time-series modeling approaches, feature stores, backtesting, and model orchestration concepts.

Frontline Operational Focus: Experience building products used by distributed frontline operators (e.g., store managers, site leads, regional operations).
