CDN is a recognized industry leader in the energy services sector. CDN is a full-service provider with expertise in E&I maintenance, renewables/solar, major projects, combustion & emissions reduction, and measurement. We are currently seeking a Purchasing Agent to join our team in Fort St. John, BC.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Purchasing Agent plays a key role in supporting our operations by sourcing, procuring, and coordinating materials for maintenance and construction projects. This position is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who enjoys building supplier relationships, finding cost-effective solutions, and supporting project success.

Responsibilities:

Process orders from start to finish, following procedures and ensuring proper communication.
Confirm delivery details, enter parts into the system, and keep data error-free.
Conduct product research for pricing, availability, and sourcing. Track and communicate all backorders efficiently.
Pick orders, assist in receiving to gain knowledge, and off-load freight as needed. Arrange loading and transport of materials.
Pursue cost savings opportunities and follow inventory control procedures.
Maintain relationships with vendors and field staff. Assist the shipping and receiving department.
Adhere to company health, safety, and environmental practices. Attend Safety Meetings regularly.

Job Requirements:

Demonstrate problem solving and decision-making skills.
Good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Must be an effective listener with effective communication skills both written and verbal.
Must be organized and have the ability to manage a variety of time sensitive tasks at one time.
Must have experience with Excel, Word, Outlook.
Participation in On Call Schedule.
