About Us:

Cedar Coast Capital Corporation (“Cedar Coast”) is a real estate development and investment company located in Vancouver, BC, with a portfolio of 32 active projects in British Columbia, Oregon, Washington State, and North Dakota. These projects include single family neighborhoods, multifamily apartment complexes, industrial buildings, and commercial sites. Position Overview:

Cedar Coast has a permanent, full-time opportunity for an Intermediate Accountant who is passionate about numbers and looking to build their career and grow their skills within an established, fast-paced, entrepreneurial company. This role will focus on financial statement reporting, full cycle accounting (including project accounting), and tax filings.

Responsibilities:

Perform month-end full cycle accounting duties, including project accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, inter-company reconciliation, cash management, GST tax filings, and analysis of financial statements.
Prepare subledger reconciliation and continuity schedules, and maintain clear and detailed records of financial transactions.
Reconcile all banking transactions and inter-company accounts with related parties and subsidiaries.
Record daily transactions, monitor and review bank and credit card reconciliations.
Manage bill approvals and communicate with other departments regarding expenses.
Manage vendors, track expenses and process bi-monthly payments on a timely basis.
Manage payment of Canada and U.S. tax remittances.
Assist with submitting construction loan draws and lender reporting requests.
Prepare audit working papers and assist with the year-end audit of the financial statements and notes.
Ensure that investor and lender payments are paid on time each month when due.
Evaluate current controls and ensure adherence to existing internal control processes, accounting policies and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements to ensure the continued integrity of the company’s financial information.
Prepare analysis and reporting for monthly and quarterly financial reporting results.
Support special projects/initiatives and ad-hoc reporting/analysis as required by the Executives and other areas of the business.

Qualifications and Skills:

University degree in accounting or related field.
2-3 years experience in an accounting department role, with full cycle accounting knowledge.
Currently working towards CPA qualification (successful completion of the CFE is an asset).
Real estate industry experience is preferred.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Very organized with strong attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Personable, effective, and collaborative as a team player with a sustained positive attitude.
Ability to work independently - self-starter with a strong sense of personal accountability and ownership in their work.
Proficient experience with Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience using AI applications and Sage Intacct (or similar software systems) is an asset.

Salary Range: $60,000 – 65,000
