Summary

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Business Outreach Manager, the Program Coordinators main portfolios include:

COORDINATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT AND NON-CREDIT PROGRAMS AND COURSES
MARKETING OF CREDIT AND NON-CREDIT TRAINING INITIATIVES

Duties And Responsibilities

Implement, develop and manage all aspects of selected credit and non- credit programs, such as, but not limited to, course scheduling, information sessions, prospective student selection, hiring and pedagogical integration of teachers, internship placements, application of academic policies, program evaluations and revisions, and all other activities necessary to ensure consistent operations of the program or course.
Coordinate the development of new training initiatives such as geared specifically towards integration of anglophone students into the Québec labor market
Oversee the day-to-day deployment of short-term Career Advancement Training courses.
In collaboration with Communications, actively market and promote training options
Assist in the development of marketing tools to improve social media presence
Develop and foster relationships with local businesses, industries and community groups, monitor emerging industry trends related to assigned programs, make recommendations for change and internship opportunities
Leveraging College resources, support instructors on innovative pedagogy enabling the adult learner to train towards integration into the labor market.
Recruit, hire, and onboard qualified instructors and content specialists.
Monitor quality assurance for virtual and onsite delivery of programs, leveraging College and external resources and best practices.
Act as a resource person for students and industry partners participating in training options.
Manage evaluation process criteria to assess the effectiveness of training. Analyze results, identify strengths and weaknesses, and implement plans for improvement.
Actively participate in the JAC community as a member of the Centre for Continuing Education and International Programs’ team.
Prepare regular briefings for the Centre Director regularly and provide input to other team members as required.
Perform other relevant tasks related to the Continuing Educations sector, as requested.

Qualifications

Education

Undergraduate degree in an appropriate field of specialization, particularly education or business.

Specific Requirements

Three (3) years directly related experience, preferably in Continuing Education, and/or liaison with the business sector and federal and provincial government agencies
Profound understanding of the needs of adult learners with diverse backgrounds, particularly adult learners training for the labor market
Understanding of current best marketing practices, an asset
Understanding of program design and assessment, an asset
Track record in program management with the ability to oversee multiple projects
Solid understanding of pedagogical innovation and pedagogically impactful distance education
Recent industry experience and knowledge of newly emerging sectors of the industry, an asset
Resourcefulness and strong interest to monitor industry trends through a variety of tools
Track record of engaging with industry and public stakeholders
Two (2) to five (5) years’ experience as an instructor, corporate training specialist, or related position, an asset
Excellent IT industry knowledge, an asset
Excellent organizational, human relations (problem resolution, advising, mediation) and communications skills
Ability to leverage teams and to be a contributing member to a variety of teams
Ability work under time pressure and work fully self-directed.
English (advanced oral, comprehension and written)
French (intermediate oral, comprehension and written)
Word (basic) and Excel (intermediate)
Occasional evenings (10am-8pm) or Saturday work may be required
