Original job description
Location: Ottawa, ON (Hybrid) Reports to: VP of Marketing This posting is for an existing vacancy. This is a newly created role on our Marketing team.
About Celebright Through innovative technology and thoughtful design, Celebright is redefining the permanent holiday and architectural lighting industry. We're a fast-growing North American innovator designing smart, efficient, and beautifully crafted lighting systems that transform homes and businesses, bringing joy and impact year-round. Recognized as one of Ottawa's fastest-growing companies by the Ottawa Business Journal two years running, we're building something exciting. We're a creative, ambitious, and collaborative team that believes in innovation, fresh ideas, and building something great together.
We believe in creating a workplace designed for you. From competitive compensation, health and dental benefits, paid time off, and hybrid work to an on-site gym and Upskill Program, we offer perks that support your growth, well-being, and work-life balance. If you're looking for a place to make an impact, take on new opportunities, and grow with a company that's going places, we'd love to meet you.
Role Overview For years, good marketing ideas were easy and shipping them was hard. Every idea had to survive a brief, a designer, a developer, an analyst and a few meetings, and most never made it out of the backlog. AI agents have broken that bottleneck. The Marketing Engineer will play a key role in evolving how we approach marketing: part marketer, part builder, part innovator. Using AI, automation and creative problem-solving to build more efficient processes, the Marketing Engineer will be the person who wires AI agents into a working growth machine.
This is a technical role inside a marketing function, and the marketing half is not optional. You'll work closely with the marketing team and broader business to turn ideas into action, explore new technologies, and build solutions that make a measurable impact. A successful candidate is someone who has curiosity about the customer, the discipline to measure what drives growth, and who doesn't just see what's possible, but has the drive to build it.
Key Responsibilities
Own and Operate Marketing’s AI Agents
- Own every agent and automation the marketing team relies on, end to end: setup, access and credentials, monitoring, alerts, and fixing what breaks.
- Consider a build finished only after it has run on real data and its output has been checked against what a good marketer would expect.
- Build guardrails into the tools themselves, such as draft-only email and ads that launch paused, so nothing reaches a dealer or homeowner without human sign-off.
- Monitor agent performance and troubleshoot issues to keep automated workflows running smoothly.
Build Agents and Automations That Remove Manual Work
- Find where the team loses hours to repetitive work, and use marketing judgment to decide which workflows are worth automating and which aren’t.
- Build and maintain the shared context every agent works from: ideal dealer and homeowner profiles, brand voice examples, and leadership’s view of the category.
- Turn insights from dealers, homeowners and the sales team into actionable marketing opportunities.
- Build and maintain shared knowledge and context for AI agents, including customer profiles, brand voice and business insights.
- Customer language: pull the exact words homeowners and dealers use from sales calls, dealer conversations, support tickets and reviews.
- Search & AI visibility: track how Celebright shows up in Google, ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, and build the pages that close the gaps.
- Creative testing: generate and test distinct ad concepts, not variations of one headline.
- Re-engagement: record why dealer prospects and homeowner quotes didn’t close, and follow up when the reason is resolved.
- Weekly performance memo: a short report where every line ends in a decision to keep, kill, change or test.
Measure Output, Quality and Value
- Instrument every agent and automation so usage, output quality and hours saved are visible to the VP of Marketing and leadership.
- Feed what the team rejects or corrects back into the agents, so they improve over time instead of staying as they were at launch.
- Connect campaigns to closed revenue by carrying a campaign ID through links, ads, emails and HubSpot deals, and report monthly and quarterly on what to keep, change or stop.
- Connect marketing campaigns to revenue by tracking performance across HubSpot, Tableau and other marketing platforms.
- Measure the impact of AI agents and automations, including output quality, efficiency gains and time saved.
Keep Marketing Data Consistent
- Set one definition for core marketing concepts across HubSpot, Tableau, GA4 and our agents: dealer territories, lead and quote stages, MQL and SQL, pipeline stages and targets.
- Make sure the numbers agree across both of our motions: recruiting and growing dealers, and generating homeowner demand that we route to them.
- Keep lead routing, list hygiene and email consent clean, so dealers receive good leads and homeowners only hear from us when they’ve agreed to.
Own the Marketing Technology Stack
- Configure, administer and integrate HubSpot, GA4, Tableau, Canva, our CMS and our ad platforms.
- Build in a way that lets the wider marketing team run and extend routine workflows without waiting on you.
- Document what you build, and evaluate new AI tools before they’re added to the stack.
Ship Experiments and Buyer Tools
- Turn ideas from sales, dealers and leadership into live tests in days: landing pages, campaign assets, email sequences and organic social.
- Build tools that help buyers decide, such as lighting design previews, cost calculators or a dealer locator.
- Define what counts as a win before each test launches.
- Develop and launch campaigns, landing pages, tools and experiments that improve the customer journey and support growth.
- Run experiments across the marketing funnel, using insights and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- 5+ years in digital marketing, growth marketing, marketing operations, marketing technology, revops, or a technical role with clear marketing impact.
- Hands-on experience building with AI: agents, automations or workflows using tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor or similar LLM.
- Comfortable writing or reading code (HTML/CSS, JavaScript or Python) and working with APIs to connect tools.
- Experience with a marketing automation and CRM platform, ideally HubSpot.
- Strong analytical skills: you can connect campaign data to revenue and turn it into clear decisions.
- A builder's mindset: you ship a scrappy version fast, measure it, and improve it.
- Strong customer instinct and sharp written communication.
- Comfortable managing multiple experiments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Experience with GA4, Google Tag Manager, Tableau or similar BI tools, and multi-touch attribution.
- Familiarity with AI creative tools for images, video and voice.
- Experience in channel-driven, B2B2C or product-based companies, including dealer or partner marketing.
- Experience with SEO, AEO, GEO, and with how brands appear in AI search answers.
- A portfolio of things you've built: tools, agents, automations, sites or experiments.
