Original job description
We're hiring a Business Development Representative to keep our enterprise pipeline full. You'll make sure every promising lead from our executive events gets thoughtful follow-up, and you'll open doors with new prospects through targeted outreach.
You'll work closely with our Account Executives across North America. They own the client relationships; you do the research, prepare useful insights, keep follow-up on track and book the meetings that move prospects forward. It's a strong path into an Account Executive role.
About Celestial
Celestial Systems helps enterprises put data and AI to work, with teams in Canada and India and a close partnership with Microsoft. As enterprises move from AI experimentation to real projects, we're growing our team to meet that demand. We focus on financial services, energy and pharma.
What you'll do
- Follow up with every lead from our events within days, not weeks.
- Research target companies and contacts, and prepare tailored insights and material the Account Executives can share.
- Run structured, multi-month follow-up for each prospect, so no promising lead goes quiet.
- Run targeted outbound to senior leaders in new markets, especially around upcoming events.
- Qualify interest and book meetings between prospects and the right Account Executive.
- Help promote and fill our executive dinners, roundtables and partner events.
- Keep all activity and contact information accurate in our CRM.
What you bring
- 1 to 3 years in business development, sales development or a similar client-facing role, ideally in B2B technology or services.
- Confidence reaching out to senior people by email, phone and LinkedIn, and handling rejection well.
- Strong research and writing skills: you can quickly understand a company's situation and say something relevant to it.
- Persistence with judgment: you follow up consistently, and each touch adds something.
- Genuine interest in data and AI, and how businesses use them.
- Organized, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a CRM.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting long, enterprise sales cycles.
- Exposure to financial services, energy or pharma.
- Ambition to grow into an Account Executive role.
Why join us
- A clear path to Account Executive. This role is designed as a step into a closing role, typically within 12 to 18 months, with named accounts and coaching as you grow.
- Learn from experienced sellers. You'll work day to day with senior Account Executives and our Director of Solutions on real enterprise deals.
- Meaningful impact. Your work directly shapes the pipeline, and you'll see how your meetings turn into projects.
- A growing market. Demand for practical AI and data work is rising fast, and our partnership with Microsoft puts us at the centre of it.
Perks and culture
- Extended health benefits
- Team lunch at the office every Friday
- Fun Fridays
- Quarterly team outings
Location
Based in our Vancouver office, working day to day with the sales and solutions team. Occasional travel to support events.
What success looks like
- Every event lead followed up promptly and tracked through a structured follow-up plan.
- A consistent number of meetings held each month between prospects and Account Executives.
- Opportunities that the Account Executives accept as qualified, which matters more than meetings booked.
