Original job description

We're hiring a Senior Account Executive who can hit the ground running, bringing their own relationships and building new enterprise ones and turn early interest in AI and data into real projects. You'll work with senior leaders at organizations with $50 million or more in revenue, guiding them from first conversation to signed engagement, typically over 8 to 12 months.

This role is for someone who builds trust over time. Many of our prospects first meet us at executive events while they're still learning what AI can do for them. Your job is to stay genuinely useful through that journey, help them find the right problem to solve, and turn that relationship into a qualified opportunity and then a deal, with starter engagements of around $250,000.

About Celestial

Celestial Systems helps enterprises put data and AI to work, with teams in Canada and India and a close partnership with Microsoft. As enterprises move from AI experimentation to real projects, we're growing our team to meet that demand. We focus on financial services, energy and pharma.

What you'll do

Own a territory and book of target accounts, including opening new markets and accounts from the ground up.

Nurture event and outbound leads over months, adding value at each touch point with industry insights and tailored material.

Convert interest into well-qualified opportunities, working with our Director of Solutions on discovery and solution design.

Run long enterprise sales cycles with multiple senior stakeholders, through to proposal, negotiation and close.

Work with our business development team, who support research, follow-up and meeting booking.

Co-sell with Microsoft where it helps the client.

Represent Celestial at executive dinners, roundtables and industry events.

Keep pipeline and account activity current in our CRM, and forecast accurately.

What you bring

8 or more years selling technology services, consulting or software to enterprise organizations, with an active network of senior decision-makers you can engage from day one, ideally in financial services, energy or pharma.

A track record of closing deals of $250,000 or more with sales cycles of 6 to 12 months or longer.

Proven ability to turn early-stage leads into qualified opportunities, not only to close deals that arrive ready.

Comfort leading conversations with senior executives, including VPs, CIOs, CDOs and line-of-business leaders.

A consultative, value-first approach: you follow up persistently, and every follow-up gives the client something useful.

Solid understanding of data, analytics and AI, and the curiosity to keep learning a fast-moving market.

Nice to have

Experience selling AI or data solutions specifically, not only general IT services.

Experience co-selling with Microsoft or other technology partners.

Experience building a new territory or market from scratch.

Why join us

Shape how we sell. You'll help define our enterprise sales approach as the team grows, not just follow a playbook.

Real support. You'll work alongside a dedicated Director of Solutions for discovery and solution design, and a business development team that handles research and meeting booking.

A strong partner. Our close partnership with Microsoft opens doors and supports co-selling with major enterprises.

A growing market. Demand for practical AI and data work is rising fast, and you'll be selling at the centre of it.

Perks and culture

Extended health benefits

Team lunch at the office every Friday

Fun Fridays

Quarterly team outings

Location and travel

Based in our Vancouver office, working alongside the sales and solutions team. Regular travel to client sites and events in North America.

What success looks like

First 3 months: an active book of about 25 target accounts, drawn partly from your own network, and first qualified opportunities in the pipeline.

By month 6: a steady flow of qualified opportunities, with first deals in proposal or negotiation.

By month 12: first deals closed, and a pipeline that supports a full quota the following year.
