We are partnered with a client in the Construction Industry who is seeking an entrepreneurial, strategic, and results-driven Business Director – Canada West to lead and grow a dynamic regional market. In this role, you will hold full P&L responsibility for Western Canada, taking ownership of the B2B project segment, expanding a productive dealer network, and leading operations out of our client's Langley office.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader and true collaborator with an established network among Western Canadian multi-family developers, general contractors, and architects. You bring an ambitious, "do whatever it takes" attitude to build brand awareness, drive commercial growth, and lead a high-performing team.

This is a Permanent, Full-Time opportunity based in Langley / Greater Vancouver, BC.

As the Business Director – Canada West, you will serve as the commercial lead for the Western Canadian business unit. You will drive market expansion by securing B2B project specifications during the early design stages with developers, architects, and envelope consultants, while simultaneously building and managing a high-performing dealer channel.

As a key member of the North American leadership team, you will balance high-level strategic planning with a roll-up-your-sleeves approach to daily operations, team development, and key account management.

Responsibilities

B2B Commercial Leadership: Develop and execute the regional B2B growth strategy to achieve revenue and margin targets. Drive specification wins at the design stage with developers, general contractors, and architects, managing long project cycles and pipeline performance.
Dealer Network Development: Recruit, onboard, enable, and manage dealer partners across Western Canada. Provide training, pricing, and marketing support to secure market coverage and maximize channel revenue.
Commercial Operations & Tender Strategy: Own the bid and tender process, contract negotiations, project pricing, and handovers to installation teams. Monitor market activity, competitive trends, and risk.
Team Leadership & P&L Ownership: Manage full regional P&L, budgeting, and resource allocation. Direct, coach, and expand the local team (starting with 1–2 direct reports and growing as the business scales) while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Collaboration: Partner with the North American leadership team to shape regional and cross-territory growth strategies. Participate in quarterly leadership sessions and report regularly on business performance, risks, and pipeline metrics.

Requirements

Proven Industry Leadership: Background as a Director of Development, VP of Development, or equivalent senior commercial role within multi-family real estate development or a related construction segment.
Established Western Canada Network: A strong, active network among developers, general contractors, architects, and envelope consultants in British Columbia and Western Canada, with a track record of leveraging industry connections and events to drive brand growth.
People Leadership: Experience leading and building high-performing teams, with an immediate capacity to manage direct reports and scale the team over time.
Technical & Code Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of the BC Building Code, permitting processes, and building envelope requirements.
Channel & Business Acumen: Experience managing full P&L, contract negotiations, and project pricing, alongside dealer/channel recruitment and enablement experience.
Mindset & Soft Skills: Highly collaborative, hands-on, and entrepreneurial with a growth-focused mindset and the flexibility to adapt to a "small and mighty" team environment.
Education & Tech Savvy: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate Development, or a related field. Proficiency with MS Office, PowerBI, and modern digital/AI tools.

Travel Requirements

Onboarding: Travel to Europe for initial corporate onboarding.
Leadership Meetings: Quarterly travel to North American leadership meetings (within BC, Alberta, and Ontario).
Dealer & Industry Events: Periodic travel within Canada and the US (including hosting/attending annual dealer conferences).
