Job Purpose
The Sales Representative is responsible for maintaining and growing an established territory within Saskatoon and parts of Northern Saskatchewan. This role focuses on building strong customer relationships, servicing existing foodservice and healthcare accounts, developing new business opportunities, and driving profitable sales growth. The Sales Representative acts as a trusted partner to customers by providing exceptional service, market insights, product knowledge, and tailored solutions that support customer success and company objectives.
Essential Functions
- Manage and grow an established customer base through regular sales calls and territory coverage.
- Develop new business opportunities and acquire new accounts following company protocols and onboarding procedures.
- Maintain strong relationships with foodservice and healthcare customers to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Achieve sales and margin growth targets within the assigned territory.
- Execute account planning strategies and work effectively from established call sheets.
- Collect outstanding account balances weekly, including distributing statements, credits, and ensuring customer payments are received according to agreed terms.
- Promote and expand product offerings within existing and prospective customer accounts.
- Sell protein specialty products and Made at Centennial product lines.
- Collaborate with customers to develop and implement weekly promotional and advertising opportunities that support business growth.
- Monitor market conditions, competitive activities, industry trends, and product innovations, sharing relevant information with customers as a value-added service.
- Attend regular sales meetings, training sessions, and the annual company conference.
- Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, and account documentation.
- Travel throughout the assigned territory, including occasional overnight travel as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Education, Experience)
- 1 to 2 years of progressive sales experience in a similar environment; an equivalent combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience will be considered.
- 1 to 3 years of related foodservice, healthcare, distribution, or industry experience required.
Restaurant, kitchen, or foodservice experience is considered an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in both office and field environments.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and meet sales objectives.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic CRM or sales management systems.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
- Valid driver's license required.
