Original job description

The next chapter of Centra's Manufacturing Division won't be built by maintaining the status quo. It will be built by a leader with the vision, discipline, and ambition to scale a successful manufacturing operation into something significantly larger.

As General Manager, Manufacturing Division, you will lead our manufacturing operations across British Columbia and Alberta with full accountability for performance, quality, profitability, and long-term growth. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a successful manufacturing business and build the systems, leadership, and operational capabilities required to support substantial expansion in the years ahead.

This role extends far beyond production. You will oversee every aspect of the manufacturing business, including quality, procurement, maintenance, safety, capacity planning, leadership development, and operational strategy.

We're looking for a proven manufacturing executive who combines strategic thinking with operational discipline, takes pride in product quality, and is driven by the challenge of building a high-performing organization capable of supporting significant growth.

The Opportunity

This role has a clear mandate: elevate the Manufacturing Division from a collection of strong operations into a highly aligned, performance-driven organization capable of supporting Centra's long-term growth ambitions.

You will be responsible for establishing the standards, accountability, and leadership discipline that define how our facilities operate. Through your Plant Managers and leadership teams, you will create consistency across locations, strengthen leadership capability, and ensure every facility is operating at a level that inspires confidence throughout the organization.

The successful candidate will bring structure where it is needed, raise expectations where they belong, and develop leaders who can execute at a higher level. This includes strengthening operational discipline, improving cross-functional alignment, driving continuous improvement, and creating an environment where problems are prevented rather than repeatedly solved.

The opportunity ahead is to build a manufacturing organization capable of supporting significantly greater scale while maintaining the quality, consistency, and customer confidence that define our brand.

How You Lead

You believe manufacturing excellence starts with leadership. Not slogans. Not meetings. Not good intentions. Leadership.

You set high standards and expect people to rise to them. You build strong teams, develop capable leaders, and create accountability that drives results. You understand that sustainable growth requires more than capacity. It requires discipline, consistency, and leaders who execute at a high level every day.

You are:

Passionate about manufacturing and uncompromising when it comes to product quality
Equally comfortable on the production floor, in front of customers, and around the executive table
A builder of teams, systems, and operational discipline
Driven to elevate performance, strengthen leadership capability, and raise standards across the organization
Focused on developing Plant Managers and leadership teams that can perform at a high level without your direct involvement
Relentless about execution, follow-through, and delivering on commitments
Proactive in identifying risks, constraints, and opportunities before they impact performance
Comfortable making difficult decisions, holding people accountable, and addressing issues directly
Energized by growth and motivated by the challenge of building an organization capable of achieving more tomorrow than it does today

Most importantly, you think like an owner. You take pride in what leaves the plant, create confidence in the product, and understand that the quality, performance, and reputation of the manufacturing organization is ultimately your responsibility.

What You've Done Before

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including responsibility for multiple manufacturing functions and teams
5+ years leading leaders in a senior manufacturing, operations, or divisional leadership role
Experience overseeing multi-site manufacturing operations with accountability for performance, quality, profitability, and people leadership
Proven success building systems, structure, and operational discipline to support significant organizational growth
Experience leading Plant Managers or equivalent senior operational leaders
Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, capital investments, operational performance, and profitability
A track record of improving manufacturing performance through leadership, process improvement, and operational excellence initiatives
Experience working closely with executive leadership on business strategy, growth planning, and organizational development

The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment where quality, consistency, operational discipline, and customer expectations are critical to success. Experience within the building products, construction materials, window and door, or related manufacturing sectors is considered a strong asset.

Why Centra

Centra is 100% employee-owned, and that ownership mindset shapes how we think about growth. We don't pursue growth for growth's sake. We pursue it because it creates opportunity for our people, strengthens the business, and allows us to continue investing in the future. The success of our company is shared by the people who help build it every day.

Over 40 years, we've built a strong reputation, a respected product, and successful manufacturing operations across British Columbia and Alberta. But we also recognize that what got us here won't be enough to get us where we want to go next.

Our ambition is significant. We are targeting more than 100% growth over the coming years, and we know that achieving it will require more than additional capacity. It requires stronger systems, greater consistency, elevated leadership, and a manufacturing organization built to perform at a higher level.

That's why this role exists.

We're looking for a leader who sees the opportunity in that challenge. Someone who wants to build, improve, and elevate an organization while creating opportunities for the employee-owners who depend on its success. For the right person, this is an opportunity to leave a lasting mark on a growing company and help shape the future of an employee-owned business with ambitious plans for what comes next.
