Person who assumes responsibility for a range of cardiorespiratory care and respiratory therapy techniques. It assesses the cardiorespiratory condition of the user for diagnostic or therapeutic monitoring purposes. She contributes to anesthesia and treats problems that affect the cardiorespiratory system.
She participates in research aimed at health promotion and disease prevention. She can prescribe medications according to the regulations in force
She ensures the adequate and optimal functioning of the equipment. She plans, delivers and evaluates teaching to users, their loved ones and groups of people. She can participate in the teaching of cardiorespiratory care as well as respiratory therapy techniques.
Must hold a college diploma (DEC) in respiratory therapy techniques from a school recognized by the competent ministry.
Must be member of the Professional Order of Respiratory Therapists of Quebec.
