The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Curriculum Developer on a contract basis to support the curriculum development of an Urban Indigenous Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Program.
This contract offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the design and development of a teacher education program that responds to the needs, experiences, and aspirations of urban Indigenous learners and communities. The Curriculum Developer will work collaboratively with program leadership, Indigenous educators, Knowledge Keepers, academic partners, and other stakeholders to develop curriculum, course content, learning outcomes, and instructional resources that support the preparation of future Indigenous educators.
The work will include ensuring that the curriculum reflects Indigenous perspectives, approaches to teaching and learning, community priorities, and applicable post-secondary and teacher education requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop course outlines, learning outcomes, curriculum content, and instructional resources for the B.Ed. program.
- Incorporate Indigenous knowledge, perspectives, histories, and approaches to education throughout the curriculum.
- Research B.Ed. program requirements, teacher education standards, and relevant curriculum models.
- Support the development of practicum and field-experience components.
- Work with academic and community partners to ensure the curriculum meets program and degree requirements.
- Revise curriculum materials based on consultation, feedback, and program needs.
Qualifications
- Ed., B.Ed., or related degree, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience in curriculum development, preferably at the post-secondary level or within an Indigenous education context.
- Knowledge of teacher education, instructional design, and curriculum development principles.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities, educators, Knowledge Keepers, or academic partners is an asset.

- Strong understanding of Indigenous histories, cultures, perspectives, and contemporary issues.
- Strong research, analytical, and curriculum development skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and collaborative communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prepare curriculum documents, reports, and presentations.
- Detail-oriented and able to work independently to meet project timelines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and related technology.
