CentreCourt is looking for a Senior Construction Accountant to join the team behind some of the most exciting high-rise residential developments transforming the Greater Toronto Area. Working across a portfolio of active condominium and purpose-built rental projects, this role offers a unique opportunity to gain direct visibility into the financial engine that drives large-scale construction from the ground up.

More than a traditional accounting role, this position places you at the intersection of finance, operations, and development. You'll work closely with Project Managers, construction teams, and senior leadership, providing critical financial oversight and insights that help keep $100 million+ projects moving forward. From tracking costs and managing complex invoicing to supporting monthly lender draws and monitoring project performance, your work will have a direct impact on the successful delivery of landmark communities.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Construction Accounting & Finance, the Senior Construction Accountant will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting project execution, and driving strong cost-control practices across multiple active developments.

This role is ideal for a highly organized and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys collaborating across teams, and wants to be closely connected to the real-world progress of major construction projects – not just the numbers behind them.

Key Responsibilities

Drive Project Financial Performance

Partner with Project Managers and site teams to validate costs, approvals, and supporting documentation
Review and process construction invoices, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal controls
Monitor project budgets through change orders, cost transfers, settlements, and ongoing cost tracking
Help maintain strong financial controls across multiple active high-rise developments

Support Project Funding & Progress Draws

Coordinate monthly progress draw submissions and supporting documentation
Collaborate with project teams, consultants, and lenders to facilitate timely funding and approvals
Participate in progress draw and cheque release meetings to support project cash flow and execution

Deliver Financial Insights

Support month-end reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis for active construction projects
Analyze project costs, trends, and variances to support forecasting and decision-making
Maintain budget tracking tools and project databases to provide real-time visibility into project performance
Assist with cost audits, project closeouts, and the organization of key project documentation

Improve Processes & Build Better Tools

Develop and enhance Excel-based models, reports, and tracking tools to improve efficiency and accuracy; experiment with and leverage AI
Support the implementation of accounting procedures, document controls, and best practices across project sites
Partner with construction and accounting teams to streamline workflows related to tendering, contracting, invoicing, and cost management

Candidate Qualifications

University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience in construction accounting, project accounting, or a similar environment
CPA designation or working towards completion is considered an asset
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high volumes of data accurately
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across construction and accounting teams
Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a lean, fast-paced environment
