CES Energy Solutions is a dynamic and growing North American oilfield services company listed on the TSX as CEU with revenue of 2.49 billion in 2025. It is one of the largest providers of production chemicals and drilling fluid systems and is focused on being the leading provider of technically advanced chemical solutions throughout the life cycle of the oilfield.

CES Energy Solutions is looking for a motivated and technically curious individual to join our Enterprise Systems Administration team as a Junior System Administrator. This is a full-time, in-office position located in Calgary, AB, reporting directly to the Manager, Enterprise Systems Administration.

In this role, you will support the administration, security, monitoring, and troubleshooting of enterprise business systems, with a primary focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012. You will work closely with business users, analysts, developers, and other technical teams while gaining exposure to a broad range of enterprise technologies and processes, including ERP administration, application security, SQL Server administration, systems administration, and integrations.

Responsibilities include:

Develop a working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012. With guidance from senior team members, perform user administration, system configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring, and application updates.
Work with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) across a range of administrative and troubleshooting duties, including: system setup and configuration, database and application troubleshooting, security and access administration, SQL queries and data investigation, monitoring and performance analysis, and reporting-related troubleshooting.
Support the maintenance and configuration of Azure DevOps Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes, including work item configuration, source control management, build and release pipelines, and the monitoring and troubleshooting of application deployments throughout the lifecycle.
Work with Microsoft Entra ID application registrations, service accounts, authentication configurations, and application integrations.
Perform administrative activities within the Power Platform Admin Center (PPAC), including environment administration, system health monitoring, and capacity management.
Monitor enterprise application environments, integrations, batch processes, and system health, and investigate failures, performance concerns, and other operational issues, escalating to senior team members when required.
Participate in change management, system upgrades, deployments, and ongoing operational activities.
Create and maintain system administration documentation, technical procedures, configuration information, and troubleshooting knowledge.

Necessary qualifications:

Completed or nearing completion of a diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related discipline.
Familiarity with system administration, operating systems, and general IT best practices.
Fundamental understanding of Active Directory and/or Microsoft Entra ID.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases. Experience writing simple SQL queries is an asset.

Software and technical proficiency: knowledge of the Microsoft suite, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint. Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, SQL Server, SSRS, Azure DevOps, PowerShell, Windows Server, or Microsoft Azure is an asset. The ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and adapt as new systems and tools are introduced is essential.
Security and access management: demonstrates care and consistency when troubleshooting issues and processing security and access requests.
Learning mindset: genuine curiosity about how business systems, infrastructure, applications, and data work together, paired with a commitment to building technical knowledge quickly. Curious about how emerging tools, including AI and automation, can be applied to enterprise systems administration.

Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics, AX 2012, D365 Finance & Operations, and SQL Server is an asset but not a requirement.
