Your future duties and responsibilities

The Team Lead ensures the smooth execution of daily operational activities to maintain service continuity, achieve service level targets, and deliver a high-quality client experience. Acting as a resource person for support teams, the Team Lead oversees operational priorities, facilitates the resolution of issues affecting operations, and works closely with the Manager to optimize operations and support team members. The incumbent understands payroll concepts, terminology, and key payroll-related challenges.

Operations Management

Coordinate and monitor daily operations.
Ensure compliance with established operational procedures.
Monitor performance indicators and client service levels.
Interpret trends and identify the root causes of performance gaps based on volumes and available reports.
Identify operational issues and propose solutions.
Execute priorities and allocate work.
Perform initial troubleshooting for technical or operational issues.
Escalate incidents to the Manager when required.
Communicate important operational information, including processes, procedures, and quality standards.
Support the resolution of operational issues.
Coordinate year-end activities across different departments or business units.
Maintain the quality assurance program.
Client Experience and Quality
Support the implementation of new procedures and processes.
Provide managers with relevant information to support decision-making.
Contribute to identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
Assist in the execution of contingency plans during exceptional situations.
Maintain an understanding of policies, procedures, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
Employee Support
Document and provide individual and team performance metrics.
Conduct call monitoring and prepare performance statistics.
Help maintain a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Coordinate logistics related to onboarding new associates.
Provide first-level support to associates.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $60,000–$100,000. This role is an existing vacancy.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

College diploma (DEC) in Administration, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or any equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Minimum of three (3) years of relevant payroll experience. Payroll certification, particularly through the National Payroll Institute (Canada), is considered an asset.

Relevant experience in the implementation, integration, or transformation of payroll solutions or in a related field.

Ability to coordinate and monitor various implementation and integration activities in collaboration with internal teams and clients.
Ability to support associates in their day-to-day activities and contribute to knowledge sharing and skills development.
Strong customer service orientation and excellent analytical, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to contribute to a high-quality client experience, understand client needs and expectations, and participate in resolving implementation-related challenges.
Ability to collaborate effectively with clients and stakeholders to ensure deadlines, deliverables, and requirements are met.
Ability to monitor key performance indicators related to implementation activities, identify variances, and contribute to corrective action plans.
Strong focus on results, quality, and continuous improvement.
Personal competencies: influencing leadership, customer focus, results orientation, collaboration, communication, problem-solving, organizational skills, and adaptability.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
Fluency in both French and English, spoken and written.
Demonstrated openness to emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, and willingness to contribute to their adoption and effective use within implementation and integration activities.
