CGI offers a competitive total rewards package that includes a share purchase program, profit sharing, professional development programs and flexible work arrangements.
CGI Edmonton is seeking an experienced Director, Consulting Services – Growth & Strategy to help build and scale our commercial business in the Edmonton market.
This is a leadership role focused on originating net new executive relationships, identifying client priorities, shaping differentiated consulting and technology opportunities, and closing profitable engagements that create long-term client value, recurring revenue, and future backlog.
This role is suited to a true market builder, someone who creates opportunities rather than waits for them, can open doors at the executive level, and has the commercial discipline to move opportunities from initial conversation through contract signature and successful transition to delivery.

- Establish meaningful executive relationships within priority Edmonton accounts.

- Convert client priorities into differentiated, commercially viable CGI solutions.
- Build and maintain a credible pipeline with clear client-supported next steps.
- Win new clients and expand initial engagements into long-term relationships.
- Deliver signed bookings and profitable backlog that contribute to future revenue growth.
- Maintain accurate forecasts and strong commercial discipline.
- Mobilize CGI's broader organization effectively in a matrixed environment.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- 10 or more years of experience in complex business-to-business technology, consulting, or managed services sales, account growth, or consulting leadership.
- Significant recent experience developing business within Edmonton or the broader Alberta market.
- An established network of relationships within Edmonton and Alberta's commercial business community.
- A proven record of building qualified pipeline and achieving or exceeding sales, bookings, or revenue objectives.
- Experience engaging and influencing C-suite executives, senior business leaders, CIOs, CTOs, CFOs, and operational decision makers.
- Experience positioning and selling services such as business consulting, systems integration, application development, data and AI, modernization, cybersecurity, or multi-year application management services.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience with pricing, cost models, contribution margin, contracting and opportunity risk.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, facilitation and negotiation skills.
- Ability to maintain a regular in-market presence with clients and the Edmonton business community.
Leadership attributes
- A proactive, entrepreneurial approach to market development.
- Strong consultative selling and executive relationship skills.
- The ability to listen carefully, understand business problems, and translate them into actionable opportunities.
- Commercial discipline and a willingness to qualify out opportunities that do not warrant investment.
- Creativity in developing solutions, value propositions and paths into new accounts.
- Resilience, personal accountability and comfort operating in an evolving growth environment.
- The ability to influence and mobilize people without relying on direct reporting authority.
- A collaborative approach that balances individual sales accountability with one team outcomes.
- A commitment to client value, delivery credibility, and long-term relationships.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- An equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience will also be considered (10+ years).
