Original job description

CGI is a leading consulting services organization, committed to delivering innovative solutions that enhance customer experiences and drive business growth. As we expand our technology team within the retail banking space, we are seeking a talented .NET API Developer to join us. As a cloud native developer, you'll need to be familiar with the principles and benefits of cloud native technology. Cloud native systems are designed to be agile, scalable, and flexible, allowing them to run efficiently in various cloud environments. You will be focusing your energies on transforming and modernizing banking infrastructure to enable improved scalability and security while reducing technical debt. This will be achieved through automation, creating and destroying instances as needed, and ensuring 24x7 availability and the real time synchronization of transaction data. You will also be leveraging microservices, which will facilitate technology independence and permit easy updates, deployments, and scaling.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Work with other developers to design algorithms and flowcharts.
Design, develop, and maintain robust .NET APIs for banking applications.
Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to define requirements and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
Integrate software components and third party programs.
Implement security protocols and access controls for identity management.
Optimize API performance and scalability.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to API functionality, debug, and upgrade existing software.
Verify and deploy programs and systems.
Gather and evaluate user feedback to recommend and execute improvements.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Five to seven plus years of recent experience in .NET development
Proficiency in .NET Core, C#, ASP.NET MVC, and Web APIs
Strong understanding of identity access management (IAM) principles
Familiarity with OAuth, OpenID Connect, and SAML
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a geographically distributed team with diverse skill sets and personalities.
Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of microservices architectures and RESTful APIs.
Familiarity with cloud platforms and ideally MS Azure
Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
Experience working with banking systems or financial services applications is a plus.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $75,000 - $125,000. This role is an existing vacancy.

Together, as owners, let’s turn meaningful insights into action.

Life at CGI is rooted in ownership, teamwork, respect and belonging. Here, you’ll reach your full potential because…

You are invited to be an owner from day 1 as we work together to bring our Dream to life. That’s why we call ourselves CGI Partners rather than employees. We benefit from our collective success and actively shape our company’s strategy and direction.

Your work creates value. You’ll develop innovative solutions and build relationships with teammates and clients while accessing global capabilities to scale your ideas, embrace new opportunities, and benefit from expansive industry and technology expertise.

You’ll shape your career by joining a company built to grow and last. You’ll be supported by leaders who care about your health and well-being and provide you with opportunities to deepen your skills and broaden your horizons.
