Position Description

We are seeking a senior product professional to manage and evolve insurance data products, support product strategy and growth, identify new opportunities, and monitor customer, market, and industry needs.

This individual contributor role combines hands-on product management with strategic planning and stakeholder engagement across customers, business, operations, and technology teams.

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or client office a minimum of 2 days per week, subject to change at any time.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Product & Lifecycle Management

Product Management for one or more CGI Insurance data products.
Manage product backlogs, priorities, requirements, and delivery activities.
Develop business, functional, and operational requirements for new capabilities and enhancements.
Support Agile delivery teams through planning, discovery, testing, rollout, and post-launch activities.
Monitor product performance, usage trends, operational metrics, and customer feedback to guide future priorities.
Maintain product roadmaps aligned to customer, business, and regulatory needs.

Product Strategy & Growth

Identify opportunities to expand existing products, create new service offerings, and improve product adoption.
Develop business cases, market assessments, and opportunity evaluations for potential investments.
Analyze product profitability, usage trends, customer demand, and market dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
Help evaluate new data products, service models, partnerships, and revenue opportunities.
Contribute to short, medium, and long-term product portfolio planning.

Market, Customer & Industry Intelligence

Maintain awareness of industry developments, regulatory changes, customer priorities, competitive offerings, and emerging business opportunities.
Conduct market and competitive research and translate findings into actionable product recommendations.
Build and maintain an understanding of insurer, broker, and industry stakeholder challenges and priorities.
Participate in customer discussions, product reviews, workshops, conferences, and industry forums to gather insights and strengthen market awareness.

Stakeholder & Ecosystem Engagement

Serve as a trusted liaison between business stakeholders, customers, delivery teams, operations teams, and leadership.
Lead discovery sessions and facilitate discussions with customers, partners, and industry participants.
Support partnership exploration and vendor evaluations where required.
Present recommendations, business cases, and product proposals to senior stakeholders.

Product Governance & Operational Excellence

Support product governance activities, reporting, KPI measurement, service reviews, and roadmap planning.
Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, product administration, customer onboarding, and service delivery.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve customer experience, increase efficiency, or unlock growth opportunities.
Contribute to the evolution of product management practices across the CGI Insurance data product portfolio.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

8-12+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, Product Strategy, Business Consulting, or a related discipline.
Proven experience managing B2B products, platforms, services, or information-based offerings.
Demonstrated ability to take ideas from opportunity identification through business case development and execution.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with experience evaluating business opportunities and product investments.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience facilitating discussions with clients, business stakeholders, and technology teams.
Strong understanding of Agile delivery practices and SDLC processes.
Experience developing business requirements, functional requirements, user stories, and product documentation.
Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and operational responsibilities.
Experience conducting market research, competitor analysis, and customer discovery activities.

Assets

Experience within Property & Casualty Insurance, Financial Services, Information Services, Data Products, Regulatory Services, or similar industries.
Experience working with insurers, brokers, government organizations, industry associations, or highly regulated industries.
Experience evaluating partnerships, product commercialization opportunities, or new market offerings.
Familiarity with data-driven products, APIs, digital platforms, or ecosystem-based business models.
Experience leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve products, processes, or customer experiences.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,000-$145,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
