Position Description
This hybrid role requires a minimum of two days per week onsite at our downtown Toronto and/or client office located at Toronto. This requirement is subject to change based on business needs.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Lead impact assessments for FED and SWIFT releases, including deferred releases, new standards, and regulatory changes such as the SR 2026 Deferred Release and future SWIFT updates.
- Assess impacts across business processes, systems, data, operations, technology, and downstream stakeholders.
- Drive updates to change requests and business cases, including scope, costs, timelines, dependencies, risks, and implementation considerations for 2027 deployments.
- Partner with business, operations, technology, and external stakeholders to gather requirements, facilitate workshops, and align implementation readiness.
- Perform data analysis and data cleanup to support future-state requirements.
- Remediate templates, documentation, reference data, and business process artifacts as required.
- Provide end-to-end delivery support, including requirements management, impact assessment documentation, traceability, testing, UAT coordination, and executive-level reporting.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and readiness gaps, and provide recommendations to support successful FED and SWIFT program execution.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- 5+ years of experience as a Functional Business Analyst in financial services, banking, payments, or transaction processing environments.
- Strong understanding of payment systems, payment processing lifecycle, and related business operations.
- Experience with FED, SWIFT, ISO 20022, payment standards, regulatory changes, or financial messaging initiatives.
- Proven ability to conduct business, process, system, data, and operational impact assessments.
- Strong requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and traceability skills.
- Experience documenting functional requirements, business rules, process flows, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Ability to translate business and regulatory requirements into clear functional specifications.
- Experience facilitating workshops and collaborating with business, operations, technology, compliance, and external stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with data analysis, cleansing, reconciliation, mapping, and validation.
- Experience supporting change requests and business cases, including scope, cost, timelines, dependencies, risks, and benefits.
- Experience coordinating testing, UAT, defect resolution, and implementation readiness activities.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile delivery, change management, and release management processes.
- Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, fast-paced financial services environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Jira, Confluence, or similar business analysis tools.
