Position Description
CGI is seeking a senior Insurance industry leader to drive the growth and continued development of our Consulting Services business across the Ontario insurance market.
As Vice President, Consulting Services – Insurance, you will be a senior client-facing executive responsible for expanding CGI’s presence with strategic insurance organizations, developing trusted C-suite relationships, shaping and winning consulting and technology engagements, and ensuring successful delivery and sustainable client outcomes.
Reporting to the GTA Insurance Leader, you will have end-to-end accountability for the growth, delivery, financial performance, and client success of your portfolio. You will bring a strong understanding of the insurance industry, combined with experience across consulting, systems integration, managed services, and emerging technologies including AI.
This is a growth-oriented leadership role for an executive who can identify market opportunities, build relationships at the highest levels, develop compelling solutions, and mobilize CGI’s capabilities to create measurable value for clients.
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Work Model: This role requires regular presence at CGI’s downtown Toronto office and/or client locations.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Drive Growth and Business Development
- Build and expand a strong pipeline of consulting and technology opportunities across target insurance accounts.
- Develop and deepen relationships with senior business and technology executives, including C-suite stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and establish CGI as a strategic transformation partner.
- Lead the development of client strategies, proposals, solution approaches, pricing, and commercial negotiations for complex engagements.
- Leverage CGI’s consulting, systems integration, managed services, and AI capabilities to create differentiated client solutions.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with alliance and technology partners to support market growth.
Lead Client Engagement and Delivery
- Act as a trusted executive advisor to key insurance clients and understand their business priorities, challenges, and transformation agendas.
- Provide strategic leadership across consulting and technology engagements, ensuring strong delivery, client satisfaction, and measurable outcomes.
- Partner with CGI delivery, consulting, technology, and industry teams to bring the right capabilities and expertise to clients.
- Proactively manage client expectations, risks, and opportunities throughout the engagement lifecycle.
Own Financial and Business Performance
- Maintain overall accountability for the revenue, profitability, delivery performance, and P&L of the portfolio.
- Establish and execute strategies to achieve growth and profitability objectives.
- Monitor business performance, pipeline development, forecasting, and account health.
- Balance near-term business performance with longer-term market and account development.
Build and Lead High-Performing Teams
- Attract and recruit high-calibre consulting and technology professionals through executive networks and market relationships.
- Build organizational capabilities aligned to evolving insurance industry needs and emerging market opportunities.
- Develop and mentor leaders and team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and client focus.
- Provide effective performance leadership through regular coaching, feedback, and development.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- 20+ years of progressive leadership experience within technology consulting, systems integration, professional services, or a related environment, with significant experience serving Insurance clients.
- Deep understanding of the North American Insurance industry, including business operations, industry trends, transformation priorities, and technology landscapes.
- Demonstrated success growing a consulting or technology services business, including originating and expanding client opportunities.
- Established network and credibility with C-suite and senior business and technology executives within the Ontario Insurance market.
- Proven ability to lead complex sales pursuits, including solution development, proposal leadership, pricing, contracting, and negotiations.
- Strong experience with P&L ownership, financial management, revenue growth, and profitability.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex client engagements with a strong focus on client outcomes.
- Understanding of consulting, managed services, systems integration, and AI-enabled transformation.
- Strong executive presence, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, mobilize teams, and build new areas of business.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
- MBA or equivalent advanced business education is preferred.
